A little Ban Story

So here's what happened:

A guildmate of mine bottet about 20h/day and made good gold out of it. I introduced him to the Botting Community, explaining him all how to's and the basic techniques. A week ago I was in skype with him and he told me he's sick of getting undercutted on the auction house, so he collected the names of like every farming character on the server and their bank alts and wrote a ticket. I added the characters names just to see if they get a ban. In Skype, he told the GM now responded, about 1 hour later all the farmers and bank alts gone offline... Couldn't believe what I saw there. A total of 16 Farmers, 4 bank alts went offline nearly at the same time, they all got banned and didn't come online once since then...

Moral of the story: The most dangerous thing that could get you banned is if you piss off another botter who knows how bots act.

I have just a quick question tho - what did he do to get the other people banned ? He just opened a ticket and said what ? Some stupid, probably made-up story about how he saw them all do funny things in Uldum and Twilight Highlands and Therazane in addition to them posting massive amounts of mats at the AH ?

Did he try to actually gather any evidence against them by following them around the game world, or did he just make up everything and just made a believable case ?

Actually, I've seen people here complain they get banned just for posting too much at the AH without having botted that day or week, so was his ticket entirely on the grounds of too much mats posted at the AH, or did he do something else to make his case ?

This is truly terrible if he just got people banned for having too many auctions at once with no further evidence.

I hope if some of the affected people are reading this thread, they will realize their bans might be entirely on the grounds of having too much mats posted at the AH and simply appeal and say they have no lives and farm to support their toons and have no idea what botting and bots are.

Wish them best of luck with getting their toons back.

Buzzer, why do you think it's a troll ? Yes, it may be a troll, but considering we've seen testimonies from people who actually get banned based on their activity at the AH, maybe it is a true story, no matter how ugly it is.
