Just a bit of info i got from a site reguarding somone who reported a botter . This was a Gm responding to a report of hacking

"Thanks for taking the time to report this to us. A lot of times these bot programs are running on compromised account and the original owner is not yet aware of the issue. Getting these reports helps us get the bots out of the game as quickly as possible and the account back in the hands of the rightful owner.

However in the event that the bot is not a compromised account but a player themselves botting we take a completely different course of action. In the case that the bot is not exploitive (eg a gold seller on a compromised account), we report these to our Hacks team. They take each report and begin monitoring the players every movement to learn as much as they can about each program. If they just immediately removed them, nothing would be learned to improve the system. For instance while you may see 1 player botting, there could be hundreds other players using the exact same or very similar programs. Once we learn how a program works, we can use that information to detect potentially hundreds of other bots that haven’t been reported yet.

Unfortunately, because of the investigation process, you are sometimes likely to see a bot in game for a particular amount of time until our investigation is complete.

Thank you again for taking the time to report this to us and I hope this answered any question you may have about the process we use to handle bots.

Seems weird they would divulge that much information to someone.. However, it seems reasonable.

I was friends with about 6 GM's in real life before I started botting and one of the things I remember them telling me was that alot of botters are caught by spam. Spamming what I do not know. But they have some kind of system for players spamming. I'm guessing they mean like spamming a quest giver or your mount. Not sure but that's all they really told me about how they catch botters.

What caused you to not be friends with them after you started botting?

I didn't start botting until about a year after not really talking to them anymore. I still go to clubs with them every now and then. But they still don't know I bot.

Also Chemical they are employees of another company they blizzard hires to GM for the game. It's in north Austin, Texas. Thats really all I'll say on that since I don't want them to lose them jobs. Since they have given me game time and race/faction change codes. Blizzard keeps a list of all the people that know your a GM and if I get caught they could get punished for even knowing me.
