Just a bit of info i got from a site reguarding somone who reported a botter . This was a Gm responding to a report of hacking
"Thanks for taking the time to report this to us. A lot of times these bot programs are running on compromised account and the original owner is not yet aware of the issue. Getting these reports helps us get the bots out of the game as quickly as possible and the account back in the hands of the rightful owner.
However in the event that the bot is not a compromised account but a player themselves botting we take a completely different course of action. In the case that the bot is not exploitive (eg a gold seller on a compromised account), we report these to our Hacks team. They take each report and begin monitoring the players every movement to learn as much as they can about each program. If they just immediately removed them, nothing would be learned to improve the system. For instance while you may see 1 player botting, there could be hundreds other players using the exact same or very similar programs. Once we learn how a program works, we can use that information to detect potentially hundreds of other bots that haven’t been reported yet.
Unfortunately, because of the investigation process, you are sometimes likely to see a bot in game for a particular amount of time until our investigation is complete.
Thank you again for taking the time to report this to us and I hope this answered any question you may have about the process we use to handle bots. "
