72 hr Ban wave. Some Info I collected .

From what little info I have I don't think HB is part of the ban wave.

Buddy of mine uses HB only and doesn't even know what PQR is and didn't get banned ( He BG bots around 20 hrs a day)
I used HB mainly but have used PQR in a pinch and received a 72 ban. (Use HB for Rotations)
My Bro used PQR only. He only uses it to level and isn't even 90 yet. He received a 72 hr ban as well.

Honestly I think the PQI addon was probably the dead giveaway.

Yes, as there was a recent post from Xhelper, one of PQR developers regarding PQI in which stated:

My huge concern is that many profiles used PQI, and PQI used CHAT_MSG_ADDON as a version check...

Which means addon messages were communicated to the server, and sent to any listening clients on that addon channel. This is a HUGELY BAD IDEA, as it is essentially advertising to the WoW servers "I AM RUNNING THIS ADDON!" Blizzard logs everything they receive, and it is just a matter of them searching the logs for people advertising their version number on the channel.

This is why I want to know if anyone was banned without ever having PQI installed.

FOR NOW it looks like PQI got hit hard.. as HB-PQR-PE communities are separate, but people visiting them are mutual, its bound that people that used more than one of these programs got hit. Take this all with the grain of salt, as noone is sure about what happened and theres "human" factor involved, lots of people are providing inaccurate information. As it looks like, for now, ONLY PC users got hit, there was no mac ban reports on both PQR and PE forums. This is still a lot of "says" and people are still gathering info and investigating, so, ATM exact reason why we got hit is still unknown.

here's an idea, try running PQR on a mac and maybe this will give you a clue as to why there are no mac ban reports.

PE and PQR (and HB) are windows only. there is no way to run them on mac OS. never was never will be.
