Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks")

This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack.". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game.


1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? I was using honorbuddy grindbot and partybot to level up two characters with RAF.

2)If so, when was the last time?: 5 hours ago.

3)What profile were you using?: Kick's 58-70 horde grinding profile

4)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: Fpsware Paladin

6)How many hours per day did you bot for?: Around 18hours. (would have been 24hrs a day if not for dc's)

5hours off and on while doing other stuff on computer.(did not receive whispers about botting from buddycenter, although i did get ganked for an hour straight yesterday.)

7)How many auctions per day did you have?: About 60 auctions 3 days ago for leveling up mining.

8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? No.

9)Was your account involved in gold selling? No.

is there a ban wave going on? sorry to start some flame question like this? but you guys are like the 4 lucky people this week! other than that, good luck in retrieving your account, even though its only a 72 hour ban. Just lay low, take it like a man. And when open, dont play for like a week lol.

No banwave or there would be alot more ..... I would say "although i did get ganked for an hour straight yesterday" if I had to guess. But that is my opinion.

Ban wave=10000k + bans, and is only viable if warden was updated and HB tripwire didn't shut down all connections.

If I lay low for a little bit and possibly hand level my two accounts could i still go on to farm at level 85 or would they always be suspecting me? I really wanted to stock up on gold for like a month once they were 85 and then try to sell most of it.

The problem is that noone here really knows for sure. We can only go on what has been seen in the past. I can't really say myself because I really haven't seen that much when it comes to bans and suspensions. I would def agree that you'd want to stay low risk for awhile... not bot AFK for very long, not being on for more than 10-12 hours a day and not grinding the same area for more than a few hours. Just my opinion though...

Chances are you were reported for grinding in a specific area by another player...perhaps your path had you killing an npc that they needed to turn in a quest or a creature they needed in a quest chain. Perhaps you pissed someone off by killing a rare tamable beast (one of my farmers did that by killing Sambas the lion in Twilight while gathering herbs). You also mentioned getting ganked for an hour so I am assuming you are on a pvp realm. Changes are that this is the person who reported you if you were moving in a bot like fashion and always walking right into a death. Pvp players tend to take more notice to bots than other players. It is one of the reasons I dont use the pvp features in HB.

Grinding is far more noticeable a form of botting than questing or archeology. I would consider switching over to one of the leveling profiles or, if your toons are above level 60, I would suggest switching over to Archbuddy to finish leveling to 85 and just forget about the RAF bonus altogether. I would rather get my toons leveled over a slightly longer period of time having them go unnoticed and be able to keep them rather than get them half way to 85 fast and get banned.

Secondly, try not to bot 18 to 24 hours a day. I like to break my botting up into 8 to 10 hour stretches max. Then I will let them take a break for a few hours and then start them up again. It is a bit more human looking.

When you reach level 85 you shouldn't have much of a problem using your toons to farm for gold (I am assuming using GB2 to farm mats). Again, try not to do the long hours and run 24 hours around the clock. If Blizz doesn't notice you then some other player will and eventually report the you as "the guy who has been farming all the ore/herbs in a zone for 15 hours straight". My rule of thumb is bot just long enough to fill all your bags, when that is done it is time to log for a few hours.

Don’t go crazy farming for gold. I have watched many, many botters on my realms do the 24/7 thing, I have added them to my friends list, I have watched them farm, I have charted their online time and then I have watched their little light on my friends list go dark never to return. I can only assume they have been banned because who gets rid of a level 85 toon that is making you gold?

Oh, and if you are farming to make gold to sell it for real money, make sure you go through the site very thoroughly and learn all the proper ins and outs of gold selling because if you do it wrong it is the easiest way to lose your account and all of your gold to a perma ban.

Thanks alot for the advice, guess I'll just have to be patient. But i have sold gold before and made about $250 which covered the cost of playing WoW, but i eventually got banned for selling.

The beauty of a well run bot account is that it takes all the work out of leveling and gathering. Never worry about speed. Start your bots and then go and do something else and just check up on them every 20 minutes or so. If it takes you an extra day or so of botting to get to level 85 then so what. Especially if all you had to do to get there is push a few buttons and then sit back and relax. I personally like watching a bit of TV or a movie or play on my regular account while my little drones are out there doing their thing.

When it comes to selling gold my best advice is as follows: use guild banks to make all transfers, never discuss selling gold in chat and only use vanilla accounts to do the final sale. the Christmas WOW sale is right around the corner. At $5 per account you could but several accounts to hold in reserve to use just for selling gold. Leaving them inactive until you need them means they don’t cost you anything each month and they are there when you need them.
This is just for precaution. Watch how you sell and who you sell to and that should keep you from getting banned.
