72 hour suspension

So, got my first suspension 2 days ago!

1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account? - HB

2)If so, when was the last time?: - about 2-3 hours before the suspension notice email

3)What profile were you using?: - [H - Quest] 60-68 Outland

4)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: - Default Druid (Feral and Balance) by Fpsware

5)What plugins are you using?: - BuddyCenter & defaults

6)How many hours per day did you bot for?: - anywhere between 0 & 10

7)How many auctions per day did you have?: - 0

8)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? - no

9)Was your account involved in gold selling? - never

10)EU or US realm? - EU

I received the "Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy" email so called them to say I had never abused the economy (I use the bot to level my alts & profs only - but ofc didn't tell them that ^^).

I was asked to put my explanation in writing so did and received an email back stating the following:

""When running, the World of Warcraft client may monitor your computer's random access memory (ram) and/or cpu processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft. An "unauthorized third party program" as used herein shall be defined as any third party software, including without limitation any "addon" or "mod," that in Blizzard Entertainment's sole determination:

Following a review of your case, we can confirm that such program has been used on several occasions by your account, and that the subsequent action taken is appropriate. We would not look to enter into any further communications on this issue as the matter is now considered closed."

Does anybody believe it's really detected running alongside WoW or are they just assuming based on my char grinding, farming for long periods?

I'm pretty sure that's a violation of personal integrity laws, atleast in scandinavia.
From what I've read Blizzard can only monitor WoW.exe, or is that maybe enough?

Abuse of the economy is typically gold buying/selling or account buying/selling. Use of 3rd party software is what you should expect it it was GB or any other bot that got you caught.

All the same, sucks to lose an account

Also, have you not heard of warden? It searches for shady programs playing around with wow - not something we have to worry about with generally with HB/GB though as there's a tripwire coded into the program to knock everyone offline if something changes in warden so as to avoid bans.

They can check what they want more or less as you agree to the warden check when you agree to the terms.

yeh I was thinking Warden maybe knows a specific signature of HB in memory but instead of acting on it Blizz just monitor it and hand out 72 hour suspensions at random to discourage people from continuing with the bot. I doubt they'd ban everybody they knew was using a bot as it would lose them way too much money

Sort of correct. It is illegal everywhere. Blizzard and Warden lost the lawsuit a while ago regarding what they can scan, etc. They are not allowed to scan outside processes, but can scan and detect for things that are directly affecting the WoW.exe memory addresses. But it is interesting that they brought this up, because that would pretty much indicate they are aware of HB for detections. Thats what I read out of it.
