So this ban was just AFTER the servers came up after the 16 hour down time?

Yes, I had only been botting a few days before the Tripwire brought down Honorbuddy. When the WoW servers came back up I had a 72 hour suspension for botting.

Received a 72 hour ban 2 days before the maintenance,
I was in Jade Forest with gatherbuddy getting ghost iron, I actually took a screenshot of the exact place I was banned at. For account reporting purposes I will not post the pic until Ive edited out my account info.

Hmm 15h /day with only 50% attendance :/ Probably a handful of player reports I think.
