You guys ready for the mat Crash on Oct. 25. with the introduction of the BoS Trader. I have like 1000+ on 3 characters so right now I'm farming as many Starlight roses and selling them to break 5m then just sitting back and watching herbs go from 130g to like 10g an herb. I really hope blizzard decides to lower the ratio if not then back to dungeon and raid farming for gold because herbing and mining will be terrible for the rest of legion.
I can tell by the fast increase of herbs and decrease of gold per herb for all herbs right now people are dumping to make some what of a profit before there is no return. foxflower and stormheim herb dropped below 40g today on my high server. starlight still at 130g though I'm happy.

edit: So they changed the ratio so its not that bad. I wrote this after every post on wowhead was telling me it was 1:20 common mats and 1:5 starlight rose but they changed it to 1:10 and 1:3. I was freaking out because of the ratio but 1:10 is still gonna hurt the economy regardless.

I amend my original statement i do believe that prices won't dip as low as 10g (maybe i hope not). But as its looking on my server even before 7.1 prices of herbs have now hit around 35g and continually dropping as the day goes on.

You realize Blizzard had to do this. Mat prices have never been this high in any expansion, and it's pushing consumables out of the price range of a lot of raid groups. There is zero chance they're going to lower the ratio. Just be glad that you could profit while it lasted.
You're also exaggerating as to what it's going to do to the market. Sure, initially things will plummet as people trade in their stores of BoS, but after that things will rebound. We have massive stockpiles of BoS now after weeks of farming with no good place to spend them, but the actual BoS income rate isn't that high. The stable price for mats will obviously be significantly lower than now, but it's not going be WoD level prices either.

BoS trader wont influence the market THAT much. After the initial surge of surplus herbs on the market the market will stabilize. It wont be the same prices as prepatch but it sure as hell wont be 10g an herb :P

BoS is not that easy to get, unless 7.1 introduces a reliable way to farm them?

Did you not know that you can easily fish up bos like i have the artifact fishing pole and leveled it up and i can get 10 in like 20 minutes. probably more actually it's very easy to farm bos actually but none are that easy to bot. I mean legion been out for what 2 months and everyone probably has over 500 bos and botter have way more. You don't think people are gonna flood the market to get some of the profits. i can make like 200k a day easy right now not when the ah gonna be full of mats from dumping all their unused bos on the trader and ah.

you know 1:20 ratio is really really gonna destory the market how do you not think it will. i have 3000+ bos and that right there is 50k herbs current prices won't last with that amount of herbs from thousands of people.
true it'll never be like WoD, im pretty sure blizzard didn't think that one all the way through with everyone being able to farm easy. But anyway i mean if you think about it on a high pop server once the herb prices fall it's gonna be awhile before they come back up like weeks maybe months.

I'm not sure you've actually read the responses above. No shit people are going to flood the market initially from all the bloods they've saved up since Legion launch. And while prices will rebound, obviously you're not going to be able to make as much post-patch as now. I'm not sure what you want or expect, for Blizzard to not implement this so botters can make more gold? They are perfectly fine with prices being depressed for weeks or months.

Also, the ratio is 1:10, with 1:3 for roses.

Wait you get 20 starlight for just one blood? Well RIP herb farming. Let em fools farm it manually then!

EDIT: Ah I see 1 to 3 roses isn't that bad.

Not 20. I believe its 3 for starlight rose. I dont think its going to have a big effect. WQ's already give a crap load of gold. The prices will dip temporarily before picking back up. Flasks have run out on my server. Remember people will also be raiding more, there will still be a demand.

Ah yes. The Krapazhan is going out with 7.1 right? Surely raiding will need flasks thus more herbs. Yeah well just speculation at this point, we'll have to wait and see.

prices will drop, that's a fact - how much ? nobody knows, many people on wow economy reddit speculate about this - many will also buy when people are flooding the market, only to sell at profit later on.

i made over 7 million gold so far with 2 bots, i hope to reach cap gold before the patch hits. i'll most likely make a gathering pause when patch hits after going crazy for weeks.

Who cares if they are cheaper you sell more because peeps with less gold can afford them now, just bot with multiple accounts

What is "BoS Trader"?

So they changed the ratio ok so not that bad i wrote this after every post i saw on the bos trader said 1:20 common mats and 1:5 starlight rose to 1:10 and 1:3. I was freaking out because of the ratio but 1:10 is still gonna hurt the economy regardless.

So, with skinning you can make around 25 blood/hour and that transfers to 75 roses/hour. Which is what I get currently. And you also get skinning mats.
Though you get around 7 blood/hour with herbalism so that's around 100 roses/hour. Now combine other methods of acquiring blood I'd say the prices will drop by around 40%. To make worth profit from your account you'd need to run them for 4-5 weeks without getting banned.

I say the price for starlight rose will be 70g after it stabilizes withing a week.

Most likely i mean i think starlight right now is 138g and has been going up between 130-140g daily and after the first initial it'll go back up especially if you flip them later on though you always take the risk of them never coming back up
