6.0 and WoD Release Question

I just wish to have something clarified for me if you guys can help.

I understand HB will be down for a little while when the expansion hits live servers.

However, im trying to understand whether that means when 6.0 hits? (pre-expansion patch that contains most of the changes) OR when Blizzard flips a switch in November and we can level to 100 with WoD content?

Sorry if this is a dumb question as I know next to nothing about coding and what blizzard does in the pre-patch and in the actual deployment of an expansion.

My guess is that HB will be down for a while when 6.0 hits, since its a big patch, and then again when Warlords actually hits. But, I also know that some of the devs are already on the beta, so the downtime can be short, and it can be long. Wait and see
