For years now, HB has refused to update the software to work with the 64 bit wow client. Personally, I think blizzard is detecting honorbuddy software by other means, but wouldn't it be so simple for them to just flag every account running the 32 bit client? I mean, it's 2016, who runs the 32 bit client in 2016 unless they are botting?

people who don't have the cash to buy high end pc's and laptop for gaming since 32 bit windows based pc are so much cheaper and to honest the % of 32 bit users is still higher than 64 bit

My hubby did a study on this a year or so ago. Using Blizzard's own figures there are fewer than 8% of the player base still using x86 windows (Europe). He didn't check for other areas though so his study is far from counting everyone.

That said, I would assume it is possible for blizzard to check which version of windows we're using.

Chinajade will assure us that it makes no difference about which version of WOW client we use. But simple common sense says it's likely only x86 clients are being scanned.

My husband was aggressively berated by Chinajade the last time he mentioned this. He doesn't post any more. He doesn't bot anymore either. Quoting him directly "Being loud and abusive doesn't make you right, it simply makes you look unreliable and dishonest."

I'm not a high volume poster. I certainly don't have all the knowledge to know for sure what's right with regards to 32bit / 64bit. I do know for sure that my husband's comments were right.

As a group we certainly need more clarity here.

Come on, not this again. It's been discussed ad nauseam. No 64-bit unless absolutely necessary. That's it, end of story.

Okay, fair enough. Let's put it this way. A good number of users feel unsafe because of the lack of information over the 32 bit / 64 bit issue. If you are so sure it make absolutely no difference with regards to safety at least explain why it makes no difference. Don't be vague about it. Give us hard details, facts that we can trust and rely on. Not once during my time reading these forums have I seen hard evidence to support the argument that 32bit users aren't being targeted.

In Asia most computers is still running Windows XP. And if you look at WoW users world wide, look how many play from Asia region, that is one reason Blizz supports 32 bit.
And as it has been explained on this forum over and over and over, as long as Blizzard supports 32 bit WoW then there is no reason for Bossland to make a 64 bit version, they have a product that works for everyone everywhere, why make a product that excludes some customers beacause they can't afford a 64 bit computer ?

This is a company. Unless you're Microsoft or any big company that can spent tons of $$ for research, you have to keep focus on one thing: economics.
When making economic decisions you have to evaluate pros and cons in relation to financial expediency.

If you're aware of the complexity of honorbuddy you'll understand, that it's not a simple task to re-write it in 64bit. Basically said, it is not worth it right now.
