Say I have 2 computers, and want to bot on one and play legit on the other. Is there anything I can/should do to make the two accounts look completely unrelated.

Just trying to protect the legit account from getting banned by IP association or something similar.

Thanks,

Just off the record.
In Poland sometimes we have something you would call "neighbour provider". It means some company bought bandwidth from university or someone bigger than them, and sells internet for lower price and speed.
It means that there can been like one thousand people connected in this network but for the outside they all have one IP - unless they bought external one but it was quite expensive back in the days.

Do you really think Blizzard would ban let's say 100 accounts because they had the same IP and one of the accounts was botted?

i had a set of bots running just db, and another set running db + d3 starter. the d3 starter set got banned but the db only set is still running strong. they are all on same IP, so i dont think it matters. i also play legit on my main account sometimes and it has survived since may 15 2012 (d3 launch).

Running them on the same IP is a recipe for disaster.

also calling bullshit. if you're security conscious the best thing to do would be to set up a virtual private network

They have
I'm not talking about 100 bots from one person but 100 clients from local network.
If they did this please post me link for some forum/blog when 100 or so people cry because they all got banned at once.

WTF?
And how is this suppose to work if you have one internet provider in you house?
I can put up Linux/Windows Server and create domain for my bots but they will still have same IP for the outside world...

i'm pretty sure a virtual private network provider like PIA (private internet access) sends a buffer IP pinged from somewhere else that's not your local IP to the server you're attempting to ping to.

Aikido thinks AMD is faster than intel... so I would be cautious about what he says,

Blizzard doesn't always ban by IP, but sometimes they do.

You want two accounts to look completely unrelated.
1) Use different computers
2) Use different IPs (through ***)
3) No in-game interaction

Assuming you don't break the tos on your main account, it will never be banned.

I never said that. You may want to learn how to read.

I'll try and be real simplistic, just for you, so try and keep up;
At the FX level (~$220 for CPU + Mobo), AMD will allow you to run more bots per dollar spent on a new setup than Intel. This is simply true. I've spent plenty of time researching it. If you can pop out of your lil fanboy bubble a moment and go out and do your own research instead of linking one out of context benchmark like its gospel, and use actual rationalization, maybe you will see that too. But I suppose its just easier to troll and not do any of your homework?

If money is no concern, Intel wins hands down, as their mid-high and high-end solutions are nearly two generations ahead of AMD

Call bullshit all you want, but you're both naive. And if you say its such bullshit, you would have no need for a *** for this so make up your damn mind, guy.

i never said i needed or used a ***. i SUGGESTED it merely because he was asking for alternatives. And if blizzard banned by IP, the entire area wouldn't be able to play d3 solely on your actions. Sounds retarded to me

I never said they banned by IP. You're making shit up to get angry at because you cant or refuse to make a distinction. Sounds retarded to me

Be rational and think about it a moment. If they are getting bot activity on an IP, do you POSSIBLY SUPPOSE that they would flag that IP and any accounts that logged into it from then on? So all OP needs to do is accidentally have the bot open while manually playing his non-botted account to get fucked. A foolish risk even if he is not botting for 10k hours on the account. They have banned for much less.

TLDR: DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

1) Unecessary, I have use a *****/*** before and claimed my account was hacked after I did a few unsavory things... Someone ended up getting banned, who received a few items, gkicked and shit.. Was really weird.
2 and 3 are good ideas.
