A Game Master and Devloper were questioned on 2/25/2013 after 15 "suspected" botting accounts were banned by Blizzard belonging too a single owner. They then confessed that 2/24/2013 was the largest bans completed in a single day sitting at almost 72,000 accounts. They also then said Blizzard is going too pick a single day at random every 3-4 months where they will scan for 3rd party programs being used too "cheat the system". I am only reporting the information I recieved from a source at the gold website where the 15 accounts were banned. These two Blizzard employees ensist on remaning anonymous in order too keep there jobs as this was supposed too be "confidential" information. However I figured I would let the community know as you guys have done nothing but help me make a living and support my family with the help of WoW and take it from a game too a full time job. So here is my contribution back. Please lookout for yourselves and keep safe.

gms are outsourced noobs with no rights and a developer will not touch any bot related things...

How to make troll threads:

1. Make insane huge numbers
2. everything from inside but everything anonymous
3. Post "must read" in title
4. dont give any sources

i have 6 posts in the last year....yet now i chose too become a troll correct? take it for what it is. I honestly dont give a shit if you guys take the knowledge or not. Just know this is the last time I will post any information I recieve too help you guys out. I had the information and decided too share it and that makes me a troll? How about you 12 year olds decide too grow up and take information from someone who has been playing since vanilla and botting since BC and somehow I managed too loose only one account in the last 18 (been playing since Orc's and Humans circa 1994) years and now i became a troll. Stop you little immature children and let the big boys play.
 
Hello, thanks for sharing this information.. I guess you're aware that most people won't trust this seen it's all very anonymous, you can't really blame them for that. Tho I appreciate the sharing, might give a new perspective or idea on how blizzard might be doing their banning. The only issue I'm having with this "theory" is why I got banned the 24th AND the 26th, maybe just bad luck then?
 
I'm not saying this guy is true. But 7 of my accounts was banned that day at the exact same time. A GM told me it was an automatic script.
All bots were doing different things such as: Raid farming, Dungeon Farming, Gathering and Questing.
 
I was speak with GM and he allowed me to bot 24h and if some of them ban me, he gona take my case and remove ban. I would like to help others with that but he want to be anonymus coz he afraid for job. An I am not me, that is someone else who tiping right now. Cya!

Although Blizzard has issued this new "tactic" they are still going too ban upon reports and suspicious activity. This information is only pertaining too Mass Bans.
 
There always have been "Black sheeps" in the world economy, so why not in the blizzard company? Why shouldnt there be GM's or other people related to blizzard, that dont give a shit,
and from time to time leak information? I personally also got banned at this dates, so why not?

People who get banned = " I knew it, damn thank you for information"

People who get not banned = " Pics or Gtfo "

Blizzard allways take actions against botter! BUT ALLWAYS! They need just 1 or 2 days to cut 50% of bots. They are taking informations all time and one day, BUM! We are all banned. They allways ban in wave. That was they everytime told before. "We are banning in waves" something like that.
Personaly I belive they was let us to bot alltime. Then they was take a list and ban lot of us.
3 Goledn rules:
1. Count that you are banned when you start bot
2. Dont bot more then 10 hours
3. Dont overflood AH
You know, actualy botting very safe if you make 5k at day. That is normal and that is what all players doing. WOW is a farming game. You are farming JP/VL honors and conquests, reputations, gear ilvl, mounts.... All is farming. But did you think that is there players who is only farming herbs and ores and that is how they played? You can do that but how long?
I am really sorry for all lost. But atm this bot taking this game. I belive that is 20% of population is involved in botting. Doesnt matter if they botting or buying from AH from bots. That is my count, maybe I am wrong. What we are all thinking? Is this game ours or Blizzard? Will they allow us to destroy his game? All of us know every answer, we just dont know right questions.
 
Seems far fetched, even more so since i was on 2/24/13 botting doing daily profile.
 
Thank you for the information, only got 2 accounts suspended for 72 hours, but can't hurt to share, dont see it as a troll attempt.
I hope you are right, are you saying that the mass bans are a temp thing or will it be a constant spree of banning bots?
 
Wow thats funny. my main got banned 3 days ago = 24.02.2013, the next day will be the 14.03 as 2 + 4 + 0 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 3 = 14
 
dont know if true or not but just my opinion to this(even if OP is troll), my background(near 40 accounts got waved):
the information could be true because:
- a script which would permanently run nead huge ressources? ( im not IT expert, but maybe?)
- a script which would permanently run will have a high false positive rate ( -> more gm intervenation -> more exployee need OR GMs will take more care of the script and have less time for the "good" consuments -> the players are less happy with the game -> blizzard lose reputation/players?
- a script which runs for 1 day 3-6 times a year, would need near zero ressources
- could in fact of the huge sample size of the last 2-3 months autoban/flag people with a false positive rate near zero

i didnt got bann by the way: 12/12 running
