Most people are not aware of the term "banwave" and "detection".
When we talk about detection, its about the ability of warden to detect a spesific exploit or 3rd party software. This kind of detection may lead to a banwave and affects all the users of the mentioned exploit / 3rd party software who used these in a particular timeframe, even once. This kind of detection may lead to a ban even just by activating the software, not even starting to use or benefit out of it.
This is NOT the issue at the moment.
There are other detection considerations such as "patterns", patterns include but not limited to : routes, auctioning routines, post count, online period. There is nothing that can protect you from this kind of detection. Be wise about it.
The current situation we've been withnessing is just a doubletime on Blizz account and security department (or whatever its called). Its time of the year, day of the month... whatever...
