There was definitely a ban wave in China with bans between 3 days and perma. It's unclear what people were actually doing though. I couldn't find a ban section on the demonbuddy.cn forums though so who knows. They also run a different version of the game than we do.

Yea that's true I was reading that it's technically not even the same game that we have. Run differently too.

Curious to see why some people were perma banned while others only got a 3 day ban. Quite a large gap there. The post by blizzard seems to only mention taking action against botters. I wonder what you had to do differently to fall in to the perma ban category...

I'm pretty sure you're safe. Even though you re-opened you technically never connected since the tripwire prevented you from doing so

I'm pretty sure if you try to start DemonBuddy when the Tripwire is already in effect, then you're okay.

Ughhh. Hope we find out how long the detection window is pretty soon, =X. The last one had about 30 mins where if you logged in during that time you got flagged. =XXX

Nope, not sure who that is. But you're right, it is just a matter of time until they start listening to the mass complaints on their forums. Let's hope that doesn't come too soon =)

I said compared to WoW. WoW bans and ban waves are a lot more frequent; probably because those bots directly affect other players. I didn't mean to upset you, just stating a fact. Also I think of the D3 RMAH days as a completely different game, but that's just my opinion.

I'm mostly talking about the modern era...after the RMAH stuff.

Uhhh, yea. There is no history of blizz banning for botting in D3 compared to WoW and other games so yes. I'm sure there are a lot of people that run demonbuddy in D3 only because there has never been an official ban wave and they seem to not care because this game has no economy. Botting...

Yea but the DemonBuddy guys stopped their old build with the tripwire and made another one that I assume makes it no longer detectable? They said the new one is "just as safe as before". With no one ever really being detected and banned in the past, wouldn't that mean no one should be afraid...

When did you read this? Curious if you could find the thread again? Also, is there a way to change the "definition" of demonbuddy so it looks like some other random program is running? Like iTunes or something. I've changed the name of the .exe itself but I can't change another part where...

Do we know if DBuddy is also detectable now? Or did their new version fully prevent it from being detected?

Why are people starting to think bans are incoming? Just because of the tripwire? I thought there have been tripwires in the past and ppl have botted through it every day for years with no ban
