~~ For Everyone Saying DB Is Detectable ~~

it is actually LESS likely they would ban on patch day. Too many things can go wrong with a patch for them to worry about doing other things along with it.

    Trinity 1.7.2.0 BETA

Can anyone define what "Clean Install" means? I delete the old GilesTrinity folder and copy the new one in its place and i get lots of namespace not found errors.

    1/1 banned today

Thats like saying google cant search their massive databases...... Massive databases does not always equal strain on servers. They should have plenty of computing power to search whenever they want. Slowness occurs in extreme conditions typically caused by bugs or hackers.

    chased an invisible goblin

well then it is probably true. If it is common practice then the shell is probably in place before release and game programmers are probably already good at adding this feature. I guess every attack would have to have a property saying whether or not it can hit invisible monsters because AOE and...

    chased an invisible goblin

i don't know what case you are referring to as mine... I don't have any cases, my point is creating invisible creatures to catch botters seems quite expensive when botters are already screaming I AM A BOT.

    chased an invisible goblin

that is kind of part of my point. This isn't as easily coded as you might assume. It is possible and a valid theory i just don't think it is likely considering how obvious botters currently are.

    muling stategies

LOL too funny, thanks! That is what i figured but was curious if anyone had actual experience with it. The fact with how so many people do transactions on D2JSP someone(a bot) could offers cheap gold there and an innocent person could routinely buy from him not knowing he was a bot. So many...

    chased an invisible goblin

because i am a programmer and i know how much money it costs a company to add additional code. To add code. Each steps has several people involved and of course managers/developers etc can be making 100K+ a year (EXPENSIVE!) 1) talk about adding it 2) approval to add it 3) create documents...

    chased an invisible goblin

sure normal players generate a lot of errors but not errors where a user tries to create a quest that he doesn't have access to. Each service method has authorization checks and the quest complete one checks if user is allowed to create, if he is not allowed to record in database user "A" tried...

    muling stategies

even then the history of the item would reveal the prior owner. I assume though people aren't getting banned doing this because it would take a lot of research from blizzard. People also trade and the innocent party would not know he is trading with a bot so it would be pretty hard to ban mules...

    muling stategies

no one has got a mule deleted?

    chased an invisible goblin

sure this is possible but right now there seems to be too many OBVIOUS and easy ways to spot a bot without having to put in custom code....

    chased an invisible goblin

setting up invisible monsters and tracking who followed them is very elaborate and unrealistic. definitely one of the best ways to report bots is server errors caused by DB not using the user interface. Any decent company records all errors/exceptions to help resolve them in the future. Every...

    muling stategies

Would be curious to hear if anyone has got mules banned who never logged onto a computer that had DB.

    muling stategies

Considering every transaction is recorded in game. What muling methods do people feel safe with? If you continually give items from a bot to a non bot account I would link the association would become obvious. Or do you think blizzard doesn't do that type of research?

    Blizz loves you!!

your bot interacts with the game in ways blizzard does not allow through their interface. An example is a cut scene i have seen a bot start fighting a monster during a cut scene. Blizzard can catch these types of situations and no for sure its a bot or something using a hack. I think it is cute...

    Blizz loves you!!

I am pretty sure the reason why blizzard does mass deletes is because of the heavy load on the database. Constantly deleting characters and all their items would most likely cause a lot of tables to recreate their indexes and wouldn't be practical. Blizzard's long database maintenance is most...
