Wow, good to know. So there has never been an official ban wave for D3? So most of the time people are getting banned because they are careless, botting 24/7 and people noticing this and reporting them?

Did that ban wave include Diablo 3? I remember hearing a lot of news about it for WoW but nothing to do with Diablo 3. Since the same company is producing each bot...were both games affected? I never actually read about a ban wave for Diablo 3, so I'm very curious.
