Well over 1000 people seem to have gotten banned today. We have been looking hard for signs of detection and using the bot ourselves since there were a few bans last week. So far we have not found anything and the development accounts are not banned. As of now, this looks like a server side...

We call anything over 1000 ban reports a ban wave. This is a ban wave. Right now the thing baffling us is that Nesox development accounts are fine...if we were detected he should have been first to get banned.

We are sorry for your loss but less than of 1% of currently online users are reporting bans. Demonbuddy is not detected but some activities seem to be flagging accounts.

Rhainland - thank you for taking the time to analyse this and report it. I apologise that we did not take it seriously enough - our server was hacked on or around December 13 and we are sorting things out now.

PM me your key and I'll look into what is causing that for you.

Its a fake. Blizzard does not send out ban emails and then forget to ban you.

This is so wildly improbable a link to the likelihood of bans that words fail me.

No - I run 5 at a time and its not an issue. Bossland used to run over 50 Gatherbuddy accounts per machine.

No link as people were banned on both sides of the patch and on various builds of DB. Locking as pointless.

Demonbuddy usage has not fallen so I'm assuming you realise that people do not wait for our permission to bot. Locking this as pointless.

There was no banwave - Blizzard simply held onto bans a while and unloaded a few hundred at once. They may have more accounts waiting to be banned in their pockets but its all speculation at this point.

Locking this as there is no link between location and bans and the Asian users don't even use this forum.
