Also do note: You cannot just move the new files over and replace. You NEED to delete the old files before you move the new ones over. If not DB will try to merg old and new files and everything will go apeshit

You're doing something wrong. Yes you need both trinity and adventure to run well almost anything. Check that they're both enabled in plugins, those are the only 2 you need, that means no quest tools. All settings must be set in: Plug ins tab -> Adventure -> Config. Main tab -> Settings ->...
