Yes, always make sure you limit is lower than your maximum - the amount of shards that drop from the level you are running. Ex: 1120 limit - 400 shards drop from rift boss = 720 limit to make sure no shards are wasted.

Did you try to run with only "always sell/salvage non-ancients"? Because the option to keep all ancients will stash items that's ancient, but not on your item list. The 2 options completely overrides the itemlist. Can't help you with the 2nd problem since i gamble with mine.
