I have exactly the same issue. On one computer, RiftBot, flawless execution. On the other computer, Ghom T6, crashed both D3 and DB after a few minutes.

To make it so it only recast if you don't have the buff active all you need to do is:
Find this block:
public static bool CanCastCallOfTheAncients
And add this line:
!GetHasBuff(SNOPower.Barbarian_CallOfTheAncients);
Botting is abusing the game, solo play, no harm done to anyone, that's ok. What you're asking is abusing the other players in your party, that's not ok.

I'm afraid it's not the rules fault, you dropped gems which means you were running either rifts or bounties right ? If i'm not wrong then it's an issue with Trinity/Profile.
Here's my report on Ghom for this night (Extreme rules) and as you can see, flawless run, not a single leg missed...
I just ran a little test, extreme rules stashes me all sorts of rare shoulders, actually i think it even stashes them all, but as soon as i use hard rules instead and put the shoulders back in the inventory, it vendors them just fine.
So the issue i'm having only happens with extreme, not...

You could use Weapon Throw/Ancient Spear, it works.
Or, revert back to a previous revision of Trinity.
Edit: Just tested, revision 85 of trinity (on the svn) works just fine with corrupt growth.
