Personally I bot whenever I need, and with timing I need. I.e. I can bot 2 hrs 'cause I just need 260 Silk Cloth or 96h 'cause I need a fast 1-60 questing leveling. And never had problems. WIth Cataclysm you see less and less people around the world and more or less you spend all your time...
