Honorbuddy on Windows 10

I have to update my OS by dec 12th & i wanted to get windows 10 but i've been told it does & doesn't work on windows 10. I want to actually know if it does or does not work on Windows 10.

it works for some, doesn't work for others, they give you the option to re-roll back if you don't like the changes. it works for me but i've heard or if you actually read the forums then it doesn't work for others
 
Windows 10 "upgrade installs" sometimes cause problems with Buddy bots

Hi, SykeMyLyfe,

Honorbuddy does run great under Windows 10.

However, Windows 10 sometimes botches an 'upgrade install', and in these situations Honorbuddy will no longer work correctly. A subsequent 'clean install' of Windows 10, and things start humming along as they should. We have yet to identify what the Windows 10 'upgrade install' damages to prevent Honorbuddy (and presumably, other applications) from working as they are designed. There are about a 8-10 reports of this issue in the Support forum.

As Thegreatone points out, you've always the option for a 'roll back', also.

So if i cleanly install windows 10 it should work & if i just do an upgrade it'll mess up?

Hi again, SykeMyLyfe,

As NavyAV89 points out, Windows 10 upgrade installs are not a guaranteed fail. Quite the contrary, most users have no problems whatsoever with them. So, it wouldn't hurt to try the upgrade install first.

Our guess is that certain users have a particular driver, application, DLL, or framework that the Windows 10 'upgrade' install is not handling properly. And, the post-upgrade result causes problems with Honorbuddy.

FWIW, I did an upgrade from 8.1 to 10 and no issues with Honorbuddy on my laptop. Did a fresh install on my desktop and no issues there either.

had no problems with db / hb even when win10 was still beta, also th1 prereleases worked without a problem + runs also on a win2k12(r2) server.
