Same issue here. Windows 7 Ultimate, no additional 3rd party programs. I used CCleaner to uninstall both distros listed in the guide (all related instances) then cleaned my registry and rebooted. I did a clean re-install using only the links provided in the guide. It hasn't worked yet...
