Given that i set the d3prefs.txt to the lowest possible, how many bots can i run simultaneously with this computer:

AMD six core 3.0 ghz
5400 rpm disk
460 GTX 1gb

-->> 8 gb OR 16 gb ram (answer for both please :)

Hoping someone can help before i choose # of license.

takes about 1.5GB per bot. Dun forget to account for system.

Not familiar with AMD sorry

try get cheap 2gb GPU tho

i run on c2duo e 6750 / 4gb ram / 8600 GT (256/128) 2 bots , not perfect but acceptable , so on your configuration 8+ bots

around 6. AMD sucks balls when it comes to running multi times d3s

Are you telling me that my ram is the limiting factor? That would be good news!

I take it that you mean that my gpu is the limiting factor in this setup?

I cant say i have noticed anything particularly bad in this regard, at least not when using multiboxing program that assigns each game instance to a separate cpu core.
Maybe theres a workaround to poor core handling?
Do you run your bots straight from the disk or via some boxer/***? Do you also have an AMD cpu?

Buy SSD or WD velociraptor.

Is the disk speed my limiting factor?

There are many tips for me so far, and numbers between 6 and 8.
I think i'll ask you guys this instead: does anyone think i absolutely cant run 6 bots? If everyone agrees that i can at least run 6 bots, then ill start with that, monitor the load, and work up from there. Thanks for the input so far!

the best way to know how many bots you can run is to actually run them, theres no synthetic benchmark to determine what can and cant run.

I ran them from my SSD all 5 of them. And it was all my AMD could handle. I bought a new Intel CPU+motherboard and now I can run around 12. Intel is way better.
AMD is shit :/

can you disable hyperthreading from your intel and check if you can run more than 12?
