Load Profile not working

I've had this problem since I got demonbuddy, some of the time I cant click load profile. when i click it, the hourglass icon appears for a few seconds and then nothing happens. also when i go into the scheduler i cannot double click the path window to open a browser to select a profile. if i type in the name of the profile manually it WILL NOT work.

I have to close the game and demonbuddy both and open them again for a chance of it working. sometimes it works after a few loads, other times i have to close and open the game and demonbuddy upwards of 20 times before it works.

if a profile is already selected from a previous session it works perfectly fine whether the load is working or not.

im not sure what you mean by select a class. i use giles to handle combat and that has specific rules for different classes.

when my profiles do not load i disable the plugins because i'm not sure whether that has an affect on it or not, i just turn everything off and keep restarting the bot and game until i can change my profile/schedule and then turn whatever i need back on. again, i dont know if that helps or not; i just do it because for troubleshooting purposes its best to deal with a problem when all other external factors have been removed.

i dont know where to select a class in the bot itself.

you have Trinity and then a Companion Combat Routine that needs to be installed with it. the Combat Routine that comes with trinity is just a dummy combat routine (unless it changed recently) and the entire combat code is actually handled in the plugin.

i dont have a problem with combat and other aspects of the bot. i turned those off manually since i had to keep restarting the bot. the only problem is choosing new profiles to run.

it seems to be the opening of the windows browser to select file because thats the only thing that doesnt work. the browser will not open when i hit the load button and it also will not open when i double click the path inside the scheduler.

if i hit start on the bot, it will run whatever profile i have in there from last time without a problem. every plugin works fine and the routine has no problem at all. but if i need to change profile i will still have to keep restarting until randomly the browse window decides to pop open and i can select different profiles. this is fine when i get a functional button after 2-3 restarts, but sometimes (like when i started this post) i have to restart near 20 times to get it working. it seems completely random to me and i cant figure out what makes it work/not work.


if i had to guess i would say something in the coding of the DB is wrong, or perhaps my .net is faulty, or some other program/script that the bot uses to open the browser window is not working right on my computer. i just dont know which because i dont know anything about programming.

I have ran the .net updater that comes with the bot too and that did not fix my problem either. and as i said before, when the browsing doesnt work, i cant run a different profile even if i type out the full path in the scheduler. the bot simply seems to be cut off from browsing files on my computer. (i am running it as admin too, so its not premissions)

are you pressing the Load Profile button or the arrow on it?

when the problem is happenig if i click the load button itself nothing happens. if i click the arrow and pick open scheduler from the drop down, the scheduler will open and i can make a new schedule or edit an old one, however when i double click the path box in either case to browse to a profile nothing will happen. no matter which way i do it, the problem happens when i get to the step when a browser window has to pop up for me to browse my directories and pick the profile i want.

when i get a good load then i can either click load and browse to a profile, or go through the dropdown and double click the path box in the scheduler and browse to my file.

try making a fresh install of demonbuddy, since when you click the "Load profile" button it should bring up the browser thing so you can find the profile you want to load.

im on windows 7
i just did a full update too in case some of my .net stuff wasnt working correctly and did a fresh install of demonbuddy. still the problem pops up.

is there anything else that could affect the bot like java or something?

try deleting your settings folder and restarting demonbuddy. since it could be that the window position is popping ether offscreen or under your other windows. deleting your settings folder should reset the saved position if there is one.
