Blizzard said im banned, but im not......

i recieved an email the day that the banwave hit, saying that my diablo account was closed due to use of unapproved third party software. i was at work when i got this email so i was quite upset. but when i got home 5 hours later, my bot was still running on the account that was supposedly banned. i have since checked the headers of all the emails i got from blizzard, and it seems legit. so my question is.....why would they say i was banned without actually banning me? could it maybe mean my account was flagged and will be banned at a later date? this has me quite scared and confused. just paid for the year subscription to DB 3 days ago and if im banned, that would mean i just wasted $33USD im sure i wont get back, on a program thats supposed to last me a whole year. i should have just kept doing the one-day trials. but any input from you guys would be greatly appriciated
 
Clear out account. U have access for 1-2 days (usually) then it will be permanetly banned.

How come u get banned so fast? It was your first bot? I wonder devs would say if it Was your 1st bot (i doubt ban was because of flag theory). So how come?

Its my 1st time when im thinking about it, before 1.0.6a it was like common - ban after 1 or 2 months (sometimes 3 months). But 1-3 days that much ppl?
 
i botted for 3 days with the trial subscriptions, then bought the year subscription a few days ago. but its been a few days since i got the email and still not banned. and yes this is my first time botting in diablo 3

Hi, SmokaDaSplif,

I would examine any links in that email very, very carefully and don't click on anything in it.

There is a good chance it comes from a Spammer/Fisher. I got a fake one recently, also.

ya i compaired the header for that email with the header for a legit blizzard email and they were almost identical. which is where my confusion is rooting from
 
i also found it weird that it would be a fake ban email the SAME day the banwave occurred
 
Its a fake. Blizzard does not send out ban emails and then forget to ban you.
 
Not fake. Happened to a lot of us with the EU banwaves
 
just to be sure, try to log in the accounts section of battlenet and click the D3 standard version and you will see if you're banned or not end of story.
 
I had the same situation for my last account ! I can't use it after several days, moved all items/gold to other mule account.
 
I doged this banwave, switched from DB to Rush4x, sometimes I went back DB because 1 year subscription left, bot SMART !
 
**UPDATE**
i recieved an email this morning actually banning me this time. didnt even have the bot running at all last night or this morning. but the email said i was banned due to "Abuse of Game Mechanics" which makes absolutly no sense to me. i sent an appeal ticket so i guess ill have to see what happens
 
Its a fake. Blizzard does not send out ban emails and then forget to ban you.

Hawker, there have been numerous reports of people getting this email on multiple accounts, most are banned instant but sometimes an account or two doesn't get banned for a few days.

As we see, OP is now banned. I hope he wasn't too ignorant to everybody's warnings to move his gear, that he would be banned in a few days.
 
didnt have anywhere to move my gear to. everythings gone. and now i have a fresh year subscription key thats gonna go to waste unless i can get it refunded or find someone to trade the key with

Should have went out and bought another game, traded your stuff, and could have kept on botting. You were given quite a blessing with the early notice. A lot of people here would have paid good money, I know I would have. Lost about 4b in gold from items I found the morning of the bannings =[. Was my best finds every all in 1 morning.

Oh well, sorry for your loss. It's not hard to recoup what you lost with the bot. My games were paying for themselves in a matter of days.
 
ya i dont have all kinds of money to be spending on new game keys. i never had good luck finding anything in diablo. even when i botted. only found 3 times in my lifetime ever worth anything. couple months after the game came out, i found an amulet that sold on rmah for 250 bucks and sold a ring for 200 bucks. after that all i found was a high rolled zuni's chest which sold for 90m. and those were all without a bot. guess im just unlucky. not to mention the 450 hours i spent actually playing the game by hand that is all gone now. even if i got a new game and made a new character, i wouldnt have gear or money to bot untill i farm by hand for days and days. maybe even weeks
 
dude, monk bot gets geared with 5m. and you can log onto 2 regions on 1 account.
recovering the investment is pretty quick.

botting with a single bot with no mule\main is pointless imo...
 
i also was sent the email on wed 12, and even till today its still working!
