Hi I was wondering how many of you guys were once legitimate players farming for items in d3? I was once farming legitimately but it got to the point where time spent farming v. reward was very frustrating.
I feel that more and more legitimate players are starting to bot after becoming tired of the unrewarding grind in d3. Also, becoming aware of how easy it is to just run a bot and reap the benefits with very little effort.

Feel free to state your reasons on why you turned to botting.

Well I farmed and was happy in 1.05. Prior to that it was all a big waste of time. But as soon as I started playing the ah and making real money I realized the game had more potential then just fun. I then bought 1 license... which became 3.... and Now it would be irresponsible of me to play the game for the game when It can make me as much money as it does.

I started botting purely due to the extreme pain I'd experience in my fingers after playing d3 for hours on end.

i farmed like crazy before 1.03 patch, back in times where only very few ppl could farm a3 well.
then they nerfed the content and everybody could do a3, that's why i got bored and stopped farming myself.

also started studying so yeah no time/bored.

Lmao I remember I used to farm pots in Act 4 inferno in the early days of d3 before all the big patches. I kind of made quite a bit of money selling items before inflation which helped me gear for inferno. After that I couldn't take farming for hours plus I also didn't have enough time to play.

I realized that some people play this game a ton, and I wanted to have good gear to be able to play at the highest difficulty, but I don't have 12 hours a day to play, and I never will. This gives you a simple head start, and allows play on a high level, which is just more fun. WW barbs are expensive...

I put in a 1,000 hours on my demon hunter and realized, for what? I mean I've done nothing but bust my ass and the highest item I've ever found was a 250+ mil trifecta gloves (upgrade for my DH) and a 150+ mil trifecta ammy (upgrade for my DH). It's time for Blizzard's games to start paying me for all the time I spent playing them.

Don't get me wrong, I still love rolling some mobs here and there with some friends. I'm just sick of the shitty "great item" drop rates. Sure the game is RNG, but the chances of 7 stat rolls being exactly what you want are so low its like winning the lotto in this game.

Botted almost from day 1. Had already planned on making some extra cash on diablo, even before the game was out. I did play the game as well for first month though

I can honestly say my first botting experience ever in any game excluding bots in counter strike like 15 years ago was yesterday. And much like everyone else's reasons reflected in the polls, I started because Blizzard's incompetence and D3's crappy game made me so angry with it. I started just to spite blizzard in a way, but also to advance my character which will never get anywhere without botting.

I bot and farm manually. No reason you cant do both, especially with how easy it is to pick up extra accounts.

Been hacking and botting D3 all day long:) coz the game is utter Shit!!!
D2 is another story. Botted 12h in school and when i slept. And then 5-8 hours of trading. God i loved trading:D

started botting because i was tired and pissed off on that game, after 4 hours farming i was looting one item worth 5mln, for about 40 hours i was farming 2 act vault of assasin to get threw 3 act, thats sick, now im happy, bot is doing it for me and i earned some cash on it ;)

Started D3 with 0 intention of botting, but with the expectations of a eager fanboy.

Went into act 4 inferno less than a week after release and realized D3 was a shitgame and decided to bot.

Made close to 20k now botting and I'm a happy "fanboy" once again

600h legetimate, played HC only, lost a 300mil char due to a disconect ( so pretty much 1.2 bil SC gold at the current rate ) so I decided to move on with my life. :D

I hand leveled every class to 60 and farmed manually almost daily for like the first 2 months. Heard some guys were making bank botting so I started botting. I couldnt farm manually again ever since then. I try to play legit sometimes but its just impossible, I get bored within minutes. I go on, go in the wp, do a couple WWs, done, cant take it anymore. The game fucking sucks dick.

Started botting because the game is shit, I'll play legitimately when Blizzard makes it a game worth playing.

The gameplay was fine a decade or two ago, but they seriously dropped the ball in moving the genre forward. I expected more from Blizzard.
Not to mention as I get older I have less time to spend grinding lifelessly in a video game, and have other things to focus on. Just can't do those 12+ hour grind sessions anymore.

Yeah I grinded up to lvl 26 paragon and I was just tired of seeing bot after bot in every game. I felt I had to bot to level the playing field.
