"The monk cannon" - a budget fast and effective monk build for Act 3 champion farming

How viable is this with a skorn without LoK? I have one sitting around with high dex, everything BUT LoK. Just wondering if I need to buy one, or if this one will do.
I run 2 monks with skorn, both have ias skorns, only LoK comes from necks and I dare say you could do w/o any, my monks have slightly higher budget tho, and sit around 100k ub with 4p inna. Main aim has been attack speed and high non crit dmg, crit doesnt mather much when ur able to one hit kill about every mob and I don't run with wave of light either.
 
Hi I'm experimenting monk cannons on new bots now. Insanely good except they die > 50% upon meeting Reflect Damage elites.
One wave of light, if hit more than one RD elites, bam, dead.

If, upon say 5 range within RD elites, make bot use Serenity and then DPS skills, will save countless she-monks from falling to the abyss of Arreat Core.
I did a quick search in GilesTrinity.cs, there's no keywords similar to reflect damage. Does it mean GT + DB can't recognise RD elites?

Edit: actually there's RD in new GT.
eh...when facing RD elites, how to make monk use Serenity before Wave of Light?

Hello guys, i am quite new to d3 botting, but i am not new to bots in any sense. Have been running d2 bots and lineage2 bots pretty successfully before.
So this is how i employ this wave of light thingie, check it out

I have been running MP3 with a 2h monk 90k dps 700 all rez 3300 armor (nothing too fancy) sometimes it dies 1/2 times per hour. I really like it, it yields out 12-16 mph exp gain running A3 champ packs. Pretty sure lower MPs will be a walk in the park with 0dph. Hope you like it.

70kDPS
30k life
700AR
4000 armor

Everything was bought within 10 minutes off the GAH for roughly 5 million, yes 5 MILLION gold.

had around 5,5mil invested in his gear and ended up with

69k dps unbuffed
47,5k hp
849@
3900 armor

After some tweaking with item pickups he's doing 270 to 320 gph and around 22-25mil xph with 0 to 2 deaths per hour
Very please with the build!!

Sorry for being a noob to bottling but I'm having a tough time editing the combat routine... I tried downloading the one in the second post and putting it where my Giles one was and it didn't recognize it. And when I try to edit the existing one I can't save it. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Btw even without changing it I'm getting about 15mil exp an hour and that's without a hellfire ring
 
I'm using giles trinity combat routine and it's not using serenity at all, what am I doing wrong?
 
Switched from my ~100m ww barb to something similar to your build. Currently spent 40m on gear and it's working great. Avaraging 0-1 dph, 23m xph and 180k gph running alkhaizers

I guess I could go for a mempo to up the resist a bit..
 
Swapped some items out for more dps to see how it goes.
(10.5mil spend now and a self found upgrade YAY!)

stats now are:
90k dps
45k hp
740@ resists
4200 armor

Runs are going faster indeed which results in small xph/gph gain
Must have been lucky with the elite packs cause the deathcounter remained on 0 over 16h session. (had some afk's so might have missed em)

Not going to post my items here but i can tell you how i collected them.
Grab a piece of paper and start writing down...
First you have to skim the AH for high AR + normal resist gear and see what's the cheapest atm.
In my case it was lightning or poison resists. i chose psn resist which was a nice addition with the Andy's face the OP suggested.
In order to make this budget build work i looked at dex+vit+@+resist with some dmg modifiers where possible and pickup radius.

My advice would be to focus on getting items with either high dex OR vit. Because getting 2 items with mediocre dex+vit on em are often a LOT more expensive than 2 seperate items... 1 with high dex and 1 with high vit which in the end gives the same results more or less.

Dmg and survivability go hand in hand.. low dmg requires high EHP while high dmg means u can lower your EHP some.

Sweet build.

I'm currently getting my bot through Hell difficulty and I picked up cheaper, less ideal versions of Skorn and Lacuni (1mil gold total) and it's already mowing through things.
 
Is there a movement speed cap at 35? Or does the mantra of evasion MS buff not show up on details?

Capped at 35% with the aura, I've been trying to get like 60+ Movementspeed but then I realised it was capped at 35% :< Its actually capped at 25% without fleetfooted 8((((((
 
built 4 of this monks.... spend 12-18 mio(no bid sniping, could save more but wanted to start immediately) per bot and running at 0-2dph ~350k gph para ~36
