Seriously ... It's a lie :)

well duh, if they came across that they couldn't publicly admit that, if they did so many more people would bot

specially after X & Y is now public with db (if you don't know, dont ask) it would be 10x more botters almost immediately

If DB ever gets detected by Warden 75% of the D3 players would quit.
Why you may ask, no chance that 75% of all botters are using DB?
No, I never said that either. But the prices will go skyhigh if they detect the biggest and the best bot on the market.

They can't afford it, even if they detect it.
That's my theory.

It may not be by software but im sure theres other ways.

why cant they afford it? blizzard is sitting pretty, and even without diablo 3, they get monthly 100's of thousands every month for wow

look at their stock. its sitting right now @ 0.02 lower than the highest they have ever had their stock at
this is from a activision blizzard 2012 q3 report
And for 3 consecutive years, we’ve produced over $1 billion of operating cash flow for the trailing 12-month period ending September 30.

they don't give a fuck about income lost to bans

My theory is that since DB doesn't @#$@ with the auction house, and all it does is cause more items to be infused (increasing supply, causing prices to drop, increasing demand) that Blizzard could theoretically shut it down... but they won't. Why would they? All we represent to them is more profit. Guys pissing around in public games, for sure.

But tell me how a bot...

1.) In a private game
2.) Not exploiting game mechanics
3.) Not bloating or taking over the market
4.) Increasing their bottom line

Becomes a priority for them to remove?

because to do this, you have to be able to grab the d3 memory, read it and go from their

the same reason why programs aren't all open source. even if its not a item/AH/$ issue.

someone is still taking their code, and reading it, possibly manipulating it, possibly teach others how to

thats more of a security breach than ANYTHING else

me growing my own pot in my basement for me to smoke, not sell or share is still against many laws.
i dont blame them though, nomatter how good the game is, the code they used is brilliant and not everyday shit

no company ever wants to lose revenue. its not magically going to make them more money to ban boters who are really their cash cow in this game. so no they will not ban every bot.

Fair enough. But still, the idea is the same. I imagine they'll never come after DB in earnest unless they find some reason to believe it's harmful. I imagine at this point, they've likely got people reading these forums checking up on it all the time, trying it, combing it over to make sure.

May be a bit paranoid, but I wouldn't be surprised. It's not like DB is terribly hard to find.
