Hey guys, I'm having issues running 3x clients which I feel I shouldn't be having. My setup is as follows

CPU: i5-3570k
Ram: 2x4g ( have 16 more coming in the mail)
Graphics card: Radeon 7950
SSD: 128g
HD: 2t

Worth noting, I have two of the clients on the HD, should I keep them all on the ssd?
I have all three clients windowed with all settings as low as they can go, and yet my CPU usage is almost always >90%, while my ram usage remains ~80%

Any Ideas why this would be? I wanted to add 3 more clients for a total of six but if Im already having issues with 3, how the heck could I get 6?!

How do you guys do it? How many clients do you have, and what setups are you guys using?

Thanks!

are you using these accounts only on 1 PC ?
do your d3 actualy look shitty - had some clients where everything was on low but compared to other d3's they looked kinda fancy while running thus using 20% cpu power instead of somthing arround 6%

FPS locked at some low rate ?

Thanks for the reply. Yes they are all on 1pc and I have all the framrates locked at 20fps (foreground and background)

Does it matter if they are located on my HD rather than my SSD?

Yeah something is going on for sure, that's not normal. Your specs are better than mine:

i5 2500k OC @ 4.2 Ghz
Radeon 6870
16 GB DDR3 (I do have more mem)
SSD with 120GB

I currently have one game running on my host PC and 2 VMWare workstations going each allocated 3GB and 1 Processor w/ 2 cores. My CPU usage hovers at 35-50% but my memory hovers at 10-11GB. I can probably squeeze in one more VMWare too, only limited by RAM. I would go through your running processes to see if something else in the background is stealing CPU usage. As basic as that sounds if it's your primary PC a lot of times things you installed in the past as well as potential malware creeps on there and you have to clean up your PC. Also it might be worth researching to see if the Radeon 7950 has any known issues with D3, and possibly an updated graphic driver resolves it.

**Edit
Also if you have room on the SSD for the games it certainly wouldn't hurt ;)

I got 3 copys of D3 on my SSD and they each use 1GB ram and DB around 80-100mb ram. But my CPU is running 90-98% all the time. I got AMD FX(tm)-4170 Quad-core Prozessor 4.20Ghz and 8GB ram

Thanks man. I ended up putting them all on SSD and its doing much better, while it does still spike at ~90%, I would say the CPU usage average is about 45%

ugh actually, its still an issue: one of the 3 clients keeps closing :-/

suddenly my CPU usage is only 60-70% compared to 95-99%. Dont know why
