[Build] Wizard Tank Bot Build For Inferno Champion Farming.

I have done quit a bit of experimenting with the melee wizard build and ive found one that really speeds up runs and still keeps the survivability of the original. Ive actually found that diamond skin and nova are up even more frequently and the kill time for elite packs is substantially lower. Again this worked with HB i havent tested it on this bot yet.

Build
Wizard - Game Guide - Diablo III

Key stats
35% crit
180% crit dmg
980 all res (1100 arcane)
18 APoC
29k life
20k dps
LOH 300
def use a shield.

The key to this build is to flood your char with arcane power. Ignore the fact that your dps says 20k, with the CD on Explosive Blast at next to nothing, the more AP you draw the more EBs you can rattle off. Its truly amazing once it gets going. Siphoning Blades isnt necessary but ive found it does have an impact, if not go with deep cuts for more dps.

Side note: It may seem like this is AP overkill but it really only overfills with large packs. on 1-4 mob groups it really shines. Plus with 1.04 cutting the proc rate of twister in half, extra AP along with xtra crit will be vital to keeping this build alive post patch.

Thanks for tip of course blades are good especially as it gives the bot somewhere close to stand to be efficient. I prefer Deep Cuts tought as the Dot effect can proc/crit too. The life part of siphoning blades is very weak cause of our low DPS, more crits bring something even more interesting to the build. Especially if you only use it once or twice sometimes, the 3 more dots are doubling this effect.
 
Lighting hydra? how are you able to keep DB from spamming the hydra?:)
 
Using generic routine and it keeps dying despite me having 1.1k dps. Any tips on getting them to use Diamond Skin more?
 
This build is actually working ok for me in act 2 with Belph, 41%crit fwiw Evocation/CM/Cold Blooded
Wand/Helm with APOC
Shield 25% to block
 
Anyone tried this in 1.0.4 to see if it still works? I would give it a try but I don't want to gear up for it if it doesn't work as well.
 
I used to run Generic routine on Act 2 champions before patch (18K DPS, 37% CC) without any difficulties.
After 1.04 patch I spent about 5kk gold to increase my CC up to 45% and DPS to 20K. Without that it was dying very often.
Now I use Giles combat plugin and it is doing very well, maybe it kills wasps and shamans slower.
 
It still works for A1 and maybe A2 with some great gear. Otherwise, unless you have a crazy legendary that make your whirlwinds crits like crazy I'd say you probly better go for a barb!

I notice that generic spamming with delay timer is just wasting mana pool when casting!! I currently use belph worksfine in act 1 with the kiting activated (mind you sometimes its buggy and doesnt work well with explosive blast sht with rune that exploded 3 times)

I think its not really just 1k dps weap coz i hab 700ish dps weap with 800 LOH and she works fine ( i have a feeling i need to switch this for spectral blade healing rune to proc more hp leech compare to nado twist since currently at AH the only weap with crits proc give arcane sht is just either a good 800dps base dmg wands)

Edit: for act 3 what do u guys prioritize regarding stats? Armor wise??

Should i prioritize vit more or

all resists


Coz right now i hab 30kish vit decer armor resists is 600 - 800 all res, whats better?

i got one with 900 dmg with 91 cd 100 vita and 10 apoc
 
I am running an arcane torrent build and straight up melting shit. Need to figure out belph though since you need to kite sometimes. But I can kill most blue elites in like 5 to 6 seconds.

I think its ok arcane torrent build if u hab a weap that has a decent stat for crit proc arcane replenisher sht, but as what the current bot AI combine with still impossible combination affix for elite/blues you will still die tanking it! If and when kiting is abit better on future patches, i believe this should solve atleast one of the problems currently. Lets face it all profiles right now follows patterns and starts at first point it doesnt run where u left of right? On remedial is cut it in segments (which i applaud the ciggarc team, ((forgive me if i spell it wrong))

Plus this kiting topic i mentioned also touches the people who says i hab 15k dps with massive tanking stats forget killing it in mere seconds just as long as my bot can survive it!

I think siphon blade with healing rune procs better if u hab good LOH weap on stats or other gears with LOH,
( u can correct me on that one if u have statistics s each other)

Generic/belph or giles current DB still ignores avoidance, some minor hiccups here and there, if only on future DB patches bot should prioritize avoidance if not fail safe should be kiting

Well as for 1.0.4 this build is a bit less effective but can still be achieved via getting more chance to crits. I modified my build a bit to introduce Blades Deep Cuts so the bot try to always get in melee range and makes explosive blast/diamond shard use even more effective.

It is actually very efficient. DPS output is great with the build I linked today on 1st page, try it out!

Running this build with 8 reduced AP cost to Arcane Torrent and 10 AP on crit with 35% crit chance. I have 45K dmg with 1500 LOH. So I have pretty good gear on it. Manually this build is pretty amazing. I am trying to get to to 10 AP reduced but the gear is hard to find. But is very runnable with 5 AP reduced on a helm with more then 15+ AP on Crit. The problem is the bot does not handle this well. Belph kiting is nice but the bot runs like shit with it. Giles is better but doesn't handle all the spells as well as it could. Wants to spam Meteor and doesn't use Torrent enough. It should be mixing them up while Hydra does it thing also.

see this answers my point. with or without good build if and when Bots AI gets better. I'm pretty sure that your toon will survive it.

I kinda notice too that when ur using those twisters toons sometimes just stays there doing nothing
 
i recommend on changing the skill cooldowns in giles it works wonders
search for - {SNOPower.Wizard_FrostNova, 9000} change it to 500-1700ms depends on your stats do the same for diamond skin and for explosive blast a bit lower
im also using storm chaser with a sig spell it proves pretty worthy

Spectral blade - Deep cuts is making the bot just stand still and not hit ... what is the issue there that will make it hit than being stuck..?
