i am curious, say if i have to make a choice between : i5 3570k vs i7 3770k for botting..

which cpu is most value for money? because from internet review, seem the speed after overclocking for more or less same

say if i7 3770k can run 12 bots with this percent of cpu, will i5 3570k equals?

same both clock at 4.2ghz

thanks

will we be offing the hyperthreading in 3770k

better save your money and take icore7 2700k or bit older ver. Icore 7 2600k.
Currently using 2700k, clocked to 4.66ghz cooled with Thermalright Silver arrow))) able to steady work for 16+ D3 clients.

So you'd like to buy such CPU and overclock to 4.2 Ghz? What a pity... you can safely push them both to 4.5 Ghz using air cooling staying under 70?C.

BTW as already said, an i7-2600k is way cheaper and have more or less the same power needed for multiple bots.

BTW with Silver Arrow temp won't get higher then 38?C at 100% usage =))

I have the 3570k and I've been super impressed with it. Although i came from a Amd Athlon x2 3200+ haha!

The i7 seems to be overall better although you're gonna be spending a little bit more on it. Long term it's probably the better option

i7 = heavy process load IE for video rendering, CAD software stuff like that will take advantage of it.

i5 = more for gamers, cheaper but with the power.

Unless your going to be doing video editing and other CPU intense shit, The i5 is perfectly fine, you would also happen to notice about 15 other threads that have covered this exact same discussion.

are these on same OS Host? thats very risky... 16 keys can get burned easily with same OS HOST... same IP.. same mac... same everything..

Does HT help with VMware?

Hypertreading give you arround 25% till 40% more performence it also helps allot with multitasking. But you can better ask a developer if hb is developed with Hypertreading technologie because if the application it dont support you wont take any advance of it.

They don't check for ip's they check for mac addresses and even then it doesn't matter they catch you either way.
16 bots 1 pc is perfectly fine if you want to use things like vmware to reduce the risks you're pretty much only reducing your power.
There isn't a safe way to bot but it's safe to say that getting caught for a unique mac address or a ip address is the last thing you're gonna get banned for it's much more likely that you're using the same profile as everyone else who gets banned that's what they do look for.

Vt-x will help up with performance, although the i5 one is lame...

i5 3570k can run 5~6clients at clock... and probably 10 at 4.5ghz+... (the i7 multi-task handling is just a beast)

i7 3770k for an extra 100bucks can run bout 16 clients overclocked maybe more...

and we have the i7 3930k... those are an extra 200bucks over the 3770k very well invested.

My op, is that u should focus a low end dual xeon... will get better performance of any of those above ^^

Passmark(those are base clock)
i7 3930k 13,594 price $569.99
i7 3770k 10,390 price $329.99
xeon e3-1240v2 10,214 price $267.99

The whole setup will cust nearly the same, and U can set a nice hdd raid instead of ssd..
the dual xeon will bring up a nice amount of clients ;)

Sorry, I did not bother to read other people's bull before I posted this, so here it goes: get the 3770k WITH hyper threading. I had the 3570k back in June when I was running 8 immortal bots and wanted to expand more. After setting up a stable overclock (4.4ghz), I was able to only get up to 12 bots before my computer maxed out (all games started lagging when I ran 13+). Mind you, during this time, gold was $10-15 per mil so since I was rolling in dough, I just decided to upgrade to 3770k and OC'd it to 4.5 ghz and at its hey day, ran 15 bots smoothly while watching netflix on my other monitor. I did not expand after 15 bots because I thought it wasn't worth it and eventually, when IB shut off, I went to DB. 1 week into DB I got 12 accounts banned and haven't used it since until now. But that's just getting off topic. All in all, get the 3770k if you plan on running 10+ bots, 3570k (pussy) if you plan on running 6-8 bots. (P.S. IB had an option for low performance rendering which allows the extra 2-3 bots)

How are you gonna do dual socket xeon with an e3-1200 ? lol those cpu's only support single socket, you might as well just get the i7.

Did I ever said to him dual the e3? I said dual low end xeon...

the e3 I just placed cuz its in the middle between both procs and can run a hyper-v really well with a quadro and pretty much get better performance then the i7 with a gtx at same price range... even having low process power... (xeons can't oc...) they have better multi-thread, so instead of pure raw power u work under a smart distribution ;).
Well the e3-1275v2 is better then the i7 anyway both process/handle and is the same price...

The hdd controller on mobo servers bring a nice upgrade over any "home" ssd u can find out there... with nearly same price... ( u will get higher iops and write/read speed) something u looking for...

Not to mention the ecc memory, or really wanna keep getting crashes over and over?

Overall the server station well made will run smoother then any home "converted" workstation. ;)
We are talking about process handling/bandwidth not pure power... otherwise amd procs would be good ;)
