FPS Dropout - More CPU Usage than D3 - Detailed Log

Hi there,

Since having time to properly do a full diagnosis (as much to my ability) I've narrowed down my problem to being an issue with the routines/movement during combat. Large mobs (greater than 3 creatures) causes framerate drops from 5-20FPS, which in the end results in a much lower GPH and just a bad experience when running Demonbuddy. Attached you'll find my log of a fresh install with no plugins and using Generic Combat Routine (as per below I've tried multiple).

I've noticed this issue isn't isolated to just large mobs but any form of combat (mantra casting/etc/) on any class causes the framerate loss. Now you may be saying to yourself "Well just max the framerate", I've tried this and it works slightly but realistically speaking I'm wanting to run more than just 1 bot on 1 client. I've tried 3-6 clients and as the bot/client number grows the lag increases and causes Diablo 3 to be completely useless, again this only happens when Demonbuddy is active (turn it off and its fine).

I've used other bots and had no problems at all, but I trust Demonbuddy as I was a avid user of Honorbuddy. I'd love to hear some feedback (no trolls please :P) and hopefully get this issue sorted! I know a few other people on the forums are having the same issues but don't think they explain it well enough.

NOTE: I have a recorded video uploaded to youtube which I can PM a link to a mod/admin for further analysis. Only reason I don't post it here is I want to avoid blizzard getting at my character name :) Also if you do see the video I've capped it at 60FPS, theres 4-5 FPS drop from fraps but otherwise you'll see what happens when it runs into a big mob. The issue didn't occur so much on small mobs this run through which was strange.

Below is a lot of TLDR info regarding specs/things I've tried/common questions answered/and the almighty log of justice.

The profile I'm using here is a private one I made, can send it to a mod/admin if required. But the issue isn't just isolated to this profile...any profile and this problem will occur.

Computer Specs (anything that may be relevant)
CPU - Intel i7 3770k (Currently not overclocked for testing)
Motherboard - Z77-D3H (Latest BIOS version)
RAM - OCZ 4x4GB 1600Mhz w/Heat-sink (Generic crap)
GPU - Sapphire 7850 2Ghz Edition (Tried in crossfire, currently only running 1)
SSD - 128GB OCZ Agility 3 SATA III (various other HDD's but they wouldn't be causing the problem :)

We can rule it out being my computer for two simple reasons...
A) The above specs could handle more than 1 copy of Diablo at max settings.
B) Without Demonbuddy running there's no issue with FPS

To avoid people asking simple questions...
1. All drivers are current and have tried multiple catalyst versions.
2. I've tried multiple settings for Diablo 3 including but not limited to....
-Framerate limits removed, various max settings attempted.
-Hardware Class set to 1 (tried others)
-Low FX (attempted with it on and off)
-Trilinear Filtering turned off
etc...etc...etc
3. Fresh install of Demonbuddy (hasn't worked on previous versions either)
4. Tried multiple routines, all seem to have the same effect
5. CPU Usage under 20%, GPU under 20%, Plenty of RAM available
6. Everything in this thread http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...uddy-causes-unplayable-lag-when-turned-1.html
7. Multiple profiles which all end up with the same issue.

UPDATE: Noted that DB starts to use more CPU usage than Diablo 3 when this issue happens.

Thanks for reading and look forward to some non-troll responses :P

Same problem different hardware, win7 64bit

Clean DB 1.0.729.180 install, no plugins

Gonna test with new fresh win7 install when I got time.

You can pm it to me, include ? profile and what class/routine you were using.

Sent, Monk (but I've tried all classes)The routine in this one is Generic, although I have the same issue with others including Belphegor.

I've also tried within a Virtual Machine environment but has the same issue.

Still having this issue... Would be great to get some further help as I've got 12 sessions waiting to be used :P

I got Athlon X4 645 (4 cores) 20Gb DDR3, SSD120Gb, GTS 450 1Gb. So what can i tell you.
I got many clients in VM with different acc's, but i can use only 2 of them at once for botting cause they eat 95-100 % CPU. Though videocard is 30% load. Memory 40% used.
Every VMclient got 1cpu2cores+2GbRaM setup. VM is tweaked, all unused services stopped. If i check processed i got like
vmware_1prc2cores2gbnoswap.webp
so DB.exe got most CPU time (40-70%).
Here I got another comp with 6300CoreDuo & 1 DB session on pure comp, w/o VM, so process explorer shoes almost same result :
coreduo_woVMware.webp

We can see that DB takes 200% CPU time then Diablo.exe. This is ubelievable!!

I have 2 thoughts :
1) AMD cores are too weak or not optimized for DB code.
2) DB client goes wrong on my computer. Or mb it should be run with other options.

This result i got with 3-4 plugins (rep Giles ), but don't change if i uncheck all of them (so i conclude the problem is not in plugins)

Can anybody give me any advise with that CPU trouble?

Have you tried using Generic instead of Belphegor?

Yeah I've tried multiple routines.

And the above two posts, good work on pin-pointing it. The fact that its demanding more than D3 is really strange. Any idea devs?

Same issue here. Pretty much same configuration as OP.
When DB is running it eats 25% more CPU that D3.
When DB is just focused, or anything than D3 , its extreme lag.
If DB set to lower priority things get better, but still unplay... bottable :)

Without DB no lag for D3 at all, not matter if it in background or focused, works flawlessly.

How are you running 7 bots? I can't even run 5 without having some major fail lol

I have the same problem. I have a powerful comp, but whenever there are 3+ mobs, demonbuddy eats CPU, and makes the fps drop to less than 20, thereby killing my gph and my runs

I have tyhe same problem!

OP did you notice it ALSO happens when you kill an elite pack and the mob switches to "item pick up" mode? I get huge lag there too, like the bot is taking lots of memory just to look at the items to decide what to pick up....
