Mine is kind of high, at 60-70c. Room is pretty hot too cus it's still summer. Then again, I need a better cpu fan. I want the thermaltake silverarrow but my ram has heatsinks so it won't fit, and I'm scared to use the corsair liquid coolers =[

Post your specs and cpu temp

i7 3770k (stock speed + stock fan)
32 gb ram
No GPU (at the moment)
gigabyte z77
650w psu


I wonder if using the cpu's graphic processor contributes to higher temps for sandybridge/ivy bridge?

well it's probably not a good idea, I'm using my ivy bridge CPU's built in GPU.. which is pretty beast. ... but I'm wondering if it also contributes to higher cpu temperatures.

You know what I'm talkin about? That is, if you've been keeping up with tech for the last 2 years.



I don't know yet, I'm at 10 now. I'm thinking 20.

im using a i7 2600k, running 3bots at all times which averages 65C with the stock fan, once im on my other two accounts at the same time i high around 75C. im waiting for some cash so i can buy a new fan for the cpu. then ill run 6bots
 
6 D3 with 3 SWTOR temps never go above 45c using H100 Enclosed watercooling kit.

Well 7 D3 if u include my main when im playing when bots are running too, But normally im playing like BF3 or something.

- oh forgot to mention those 3 SWTORs are being ran on VMWare.. :D

This runs at about 30C with AMD 8150 @ 3.9 GHz

Corsair H100 w/ 4-fan setup

Any Intel CPU with temps more than 65 degrees celsius = high chance of heat death. No idea with AMD CPUs.

Where do you come up with all this information you post on these forums? Nothing you say is ever accurate and I cant tell if its just a poor attempt at trolling or you actually believe the stuff you post.

@OP - Using the CPU's HD graphics definitely adds heat to the cpu. I am actually suprised at the succuess you have had because I tried to build a cheap box for a few bots with no dedicated GPU and with just the HD graphics. Lets just say it didnt go too well. Granted I was still using a stock cooler and I would probably have had better results with another cooler.

bc of the h100

stock cpu = 60c
coolermaster V6 GT = 35-40c, high of 50 under 100% load
h100 = room temp, high of 40c under 100% load

room temp ~26-30c during summer, less during the off seasons ofc

believe tjmax temp for the ivy bridge is around 107...notsure where you get the 65 degree number from.

o wait, same guy that said he got banned from doing champs 12hrs/day...
 
60-65c is normal 'max' temp for a lot of cpus (when the fans spin up to 100%) - but not a death temp by a long shot

80c is usually the default warning / turn off for safety, sometimes 90c

But if you're getting those temps - you're either a retard and don't know how to dust out your case

or

you overclocked the cpu and don't have an adequate enough cooling system

or

you live in the Southern part of N. America and don't own an A/C during the summer

try running a car without a radiator with just air to fan. thats why.

Fan and pipe is like hillbilly windows down in the car air conditioning.

Yeah, I get ~60-70C constant running ~10 bots, going to go for 12, but I'm OCed to 4.2ghz, and I'm using an Antec sonata IV case with like... 1 fan... soooo yah. Also running an H60.

It is also summer and my room gets up to maybe 80-85F I'm guessing?

I agree with Apoc, unless your going nuts and sitting at max load the whole time or OC it to a extreme, air cooling has come a long ways, comparing it to running a car without a radiator is not the same at all... The fan in a car can not be 100% air tight sealed covering the whole surface of a engine, where as a air cooler can (as well as water) Just saying with the tech in air cooling its not to be under par'd to a liquid cooler. It is a matter of time and extremities you plan to push on a system that will make a difference. I am not saying dont buy either or one is better, it is all dependent on what your doing and if its a budget system or not, Why spend 50$ xtra on a cooler when ur cutting corners on everything else to make it cheaper? The one thing I would make sure is solid is a good power supply, seen more damage come from people not paying attn to system loads or buying shit ass power supplies for 20$ than I have for systems on load @50c
