In the light of D3 having no maintenance or updates over this couple of wks.

I just want to share and warn people to be extra cautious booting after this or any maintenance.

since this one is doing extra long. One can only tell what they have there hidden.

Scheduled Realm Maintenance 7/31/2012 - Forums - Diablo III

Only yes trial and error can tell that most of us can be prepared and tweak ur timers/schedulers out there to not get caught.

A friendly reminder from your neighbourhood

I heard Hawker had turned to the dark side and was helping blizzard now, after this patch. BE CAREFUL, THEY'RE ON TO US!

I obviously kid

server maintenance banwave propaganda mystery science theater helpful hinting pointless posting hits hard! you've been warned! sort of. mostly.

You guys do realise the maintenance really had nothing to do with d3... It was to apply the patch to sc2... Dunno why they don't split the servers but instead take everything down to apply any fixes or patches to any one of their games =_=

Not necessarily.
If any of you played WoW back in Vanilla in 2006 and Blizzard had their very first "Live" maintenance which meant the servers DID NOT go down that week and those who used Glider within the 24 hours had been hit with the banwave.
During that live maintenance Warden had been scanning the clients and majority of people using Glider at the time had been banned a day later in alphabetical order of their usernames.

But it wasn't only limited to Glider, since Warden was on an autoscan to check your RAM it also hit players who did not use Glider but linux users using Cedega at that time reporting a false positive

Lol I stand corrected :)

Cause yeah, I play sc2 more than I do d3. Saw nothing being changed on d3 but we had a patch implemented for sc2 :P

although i agree with the threads title, the patch that was given to SC2 was huge, is the equivalent to d3's eventual 1.1 with pvp,
the entire game shifted its entire GUI, even gameplay mechanics/low level graphics were modified. the release notes for it was like a friggin short novel.

i truly believe nothing about d3 was affected/changed. the amount of care that went even into the patch for sc was nuts.

Acti-Blizzard regardless of how money-hungry and lazy that they are, cannot afford to annoy and burn bridges with the South Korean SC2 Population.

warden cam be updated on the fly at any time. No need to release a patch.

so why not just do it randomly , not wait til your support, dev and acutal hardware staff are actually all very hard at work with a complete different game/base/warden?

think about how lax with teh warden is in d3, and how long it took to implement VS sc2. go try some hax on sc2, wardens got you in seconds most times
