Breezed through normal, nightmare and hell on my Monk, died twice in getting to 60. Can't even complete the search for the Chancellors Altar in Act 1 in inferno, dying constantly. I have changed my build numerous times to no avail, I even brought some gold to upgrade weapons/equipment, still no go.

Am I wasting my time trying to solo inferno ?

Do not stack more resist, it has diminishing return. I'm running with 700-800 on my barb running like a madman pulling everything, I simply dont die.
If you are choosing a healing build, go for vitality cos your heals scale with your HP.
Get some decent life on hit weapons with sockets, and socket 300 life on hit both of them (fuck daibos!)
Smash faces!!

its just unbalanced. The idiots at buzzard know nothing about the game or playing but they do know how to make it so you spend money, so think of it as playing a dps war sim.
They make it so that you are solo with a bb gun. The first level everyone has a bb gun.
Then you get a pistol and the enemy all get automatic rifles.
Then in inferno you get a bolt action rifle and the enemy gets flack jackets, tanks and artillery support.
Its poor design at best.
the only way to beat it I have found is to over gear and some classes can get by cheaper than others but its gets EXPENSIVE
oh wait there is a NEW RMAH and buzzard would love for you to come spend some real money to buy that gear.
Wow I wonder if buzzard knows that works.

I dont agree with that. Each class can solo act 1-2 with some budget gear. You need better gear for act3 thou. The thing is there is always a solution, change of spec slight change of gear works wonders. If you choose to go glass cannon because hell and inferno act 1 was faceroll its obvious you'll have a hard time at act2/3.

replaced weapons, gems still way to expensive, only got the +105% at the moment, damage is 9.2k, fights are slow but I don't die.

Monks get it easy and cheap.....
One with everything and search for the most unused res stat like posion...

good tip, I'll see what I can come up with.

Act 1 a breeze, can't even get out of the gates into the desert in ActII, just getting owned.

If you're just doing act 1... you don't need too high resist... stack on damage and make sure you know how to use Serenity / Blinding flash / Breath of Heaven.

My monk has like 450 resist to all, and I destroy act 1 inferno. (crit monk build however, I deal 54k dps)

Don't know how to use anything, DB does that for me :)
Current build is
crippling wav +concussion
Blinding Flash +blinded and confused
Mystic All +earth Ally
Breath of Heaven +infused with light
Serenity +Ascension
Mantra of healing +time of need
resolve,transcendance,one with everything

Anyways, I'll buy some more gear and just farm act 1 for a while and see if I get any decent drops. Son dropped a legendary on his first day, still yet to see one :(
200k Build |16.5k DPS, 496 Resists All, 1k LoH, 29% Crit, 150% critical hit damage, 1.71 attack speed | The Healthy Gamer lets have a play with that for some cheap gear.
