NO to paying extra for Demonbuddy Profiles

This guy Farix is asking for a mandatory fee (HERE) before you get his profile but calls it a donation :p. This is a bad evolution imo. Whats next? Other people will start making paid profiles and only the sucky ones will be free? Whats the use of this bot without a good profile? Nothing. Its uselsss. The bot is a full package and you need a good profile to make it work. And we paid for the bot.

Will the combat routines be also pay to play? How about the Plugins and the guides?

I respect the developers of Profiles and know it takes skill and work but just outright asking for money shouldn't be happening. If you want money for your work, add a donation button to your post and the people who TESTED AND LIKED YOUR PRODUCT WILL DONATE. Don't do it the other way around (first needing to pay before u get the product).

And also in that thread people say: Use the public profile & gtfo. Well the public profiles arn't working atm (at least not for wiz). So we can't use the bot unless we pay another amount for that "working" paid profile?

What do you guys think? And what does the demonbuddy team think about this?
 
You are totally right. Its just bullshit asking ppl to donate you for a working profile.. Team please get this straight!
 
Yes, i am also against it.

It is ok to ask for donations if people like your profile (Like how Kick does) or ItemRules and so on. Still, should NOT be mandatory. If every one starts doing this shit, well, the bot costs around 60? and you will still need to drop another 100? to get the thing going and so on.

(It is ok, if you do not want share your profile, because you spent some hours in it or because it a 1Mil GPH location)

I think, the DEVS should prohibit the selling of profiles and itemrules, donations are ok thou.

The only thing that should be allowed to be sold besides the bot are HIGHEND plug-ins and combat routines . . .

I would like to have the option to pay for a tested profile (donation button) but not paying for a profile that just may not work. We already paid for the BOT, why should we NEED to pay for more? I understand people have take the time and effort into these profiles, but like the first post states, put a donation button, if I try and test a profile and its exceptional I might donate when I get paid, if I can afford it that month. To pay for a profile BEFORE you know it works is just stupid.

When somebody has a good profileand wants to upload it for everyone to download, all the power to him.
If someone else has a better script and is willing to share, but wants something in return - all the power to them too.

"But the other profiles are shit and not working" - That's exactly why Farix CAN, SHOULD and WILL charge for the script.
Team should do nothing about that. If they tell Farix "Please stop charging money for profile's", then farix should respond by publishing them elsewhere or leave everyone to rot and not publish anything anymore.

Be gratefull that there is an option to even get a profile of that guy. If you dont want it, dont get it.

I will be releasing a UNIVERSAL Sarkoth profile that works with all classes, but for private profiles that take advantage of class specific skills/customized to what you want, I don't see why charging $5 (AS A DONATION0 is such a big deal. After paypal fees, a $5 donation is around $3.82, meaning we make really no money. We are doing this on our spare time, to help you farm gold/items so you can sell for way more than $3.82.

I've PMed Farix and it will be sorted. Charging for profiles is absolutely not accepted. These forums are not for advertising.
 
An optional donation to keep them motivated and the community might feel obliged to donate, I say a mandatory fee should not be allowed. It is basically extorting money from anxious users that do not have the time to test out different profiles themselves. Mods should look into that, I believe that selling and buying of anything is now allowed
 
So the guy releases some public profile that he knows is crippled while using the thread to sell his working one? He should stop calling it a donation at least.
 
I only use free profiles, but I don't mind if a developer wants to charge for his profile, after all, is his work.

I think it will always have good free profiles, slowly improved by community members. Paid profiles is a natural option as well...

Just have in mind that Buddyteam sells what they are suppose to: the bot (the plataform). Is up to the user to go from there...
 
You think he just snaps his fingers and makes these routines out of thin air? I haven't paid for a profile but I think I'd rather pay a few dollars than learn to code. You're not forced to pay for anything. Make your own?
 
@Hawker: Wonderful, thank you. I think prohibiting paid profiles will ultimately benefit the community more. I'd imagine it would be a pretty slippery slope otherwise.

if you want to make a profile with the thought:
"man imma gunna sell dat script, for a bot i didnt make and charge some donations"

just dont do it ... nobody holds a gun to your head ... its not allowed as you can read on page 1...

i think if people start a project with the reason of just making a badass profile, and contribute to the community,
the script will be much better in the end ...
they deserve to get donation ... the other people just deserve a ban ...
 
It's not okay to use this forum as a market platform for selling profiles!

But there is an easy way to solve this problem for you:

Develop your OWN Profile, like i do, and keep it private!
