Blizzard has two automated detection mechanisms. One is Warden which detects known public bots. The other one is server-side data-mining which determines whether a player is behaving like a bot by analyzing variables like hours played per day, number of quests done, party/guild interaction, etc etc.

So basically if you use ur bot for like 10 hours a day, you get flagged and will get banned soon?

Are you asking a question or telling us how Blizzard works?

That's how blizzard works.

So if you keep doing Arreat core/Sarkoth runs hundreds of times, you'll get flagged

elaborate?

Theres plenty of people playing 18 hours a day without using a bot. Plenty of people farming areas even faster than a bot can, for hours on end. It is not as simple as banning anyone who plays a lot. They need to be 100% certain it's a bot because you cannot ban someone who is not botting without proof, unless they want a shitstorm to arise.

I know about 10 people who use 5 accounts each to bot 24/7 and they haven't been banned and they have done it for weeks.

You would think this to be true, but I have been botting 24/7 (when servers are up) since first bots came out (not demonbuddy) and havn't been banned. I think your stats would get viewed if you were reported for botting (but thats pretty hard to do in diablo when compared to WoW). Although if I were searching for bots I would definitively use data to flag peoplerough data mining then analyz (mabye they find botters first through data mining then find ways to detect bot).

All speculation based in false myths of the past. That's not to say Blizzard can't do this, but there is no evidence of them doing it.

In fact at this point they don't even have time to keep up with their ACTUAL support issues let alone banning a whole bunch of people. Banning people generates support tickets which they can't already keep up with. I would be surprised if we see a major banwave in the next couple weeks.

Just review the top 10% of accounts by gold collected can almost guarantee 90% are bots.

If you know so much about how Blizzard does their job, why bother asking a question, Mr. Smartypants?

Your face when I've been botting a week after Diablo came out, and I'm still botting it 24/7 without a single ban.

It may be more about them, then the users. As the recent May event of mass ban's happened prior to Junes quarterly report. So the pattern may continue. Watch for buzzard's next quarterly public earning report. And see if month before another wave of ban's occur. With the mass of new accounts right after, by farmers, its boost to for the old earnings report.

Same as wow, the more you bot the higher chance of getting banned. So if you ban 24/7, good chance you'll get banned as obviously a human being can't do that. Just bot like 10 or less hours a day and you will always be able to argue that you were playing legit even if you get banned.

I am botting 24/7 but sadly this 'awesome" bot is always getting stuck right after i go to sleep and it stands there for 8-9 hours without moving and just looking at a freaking chest. I am so sorry i bought 3 licenses you cant even imagine!

Use the unstucker plugin for that.

Diablo is perfect for boting, becouse when you play the game you do exact the same thing >< wht i mean is that you do farm for 10-19 hours a day!

You could always get a refund.

Relax. I've boted in WoW 24/7 several months at row and didnt got banned. Same situation in Diablo. Blizz rarely ban someone only for 24/7.
On other hand, if you use public profiles - it can be reason to get ban more rapidly than others who prefer to use private or self made profiles.
