Since 2.0 i am struggling with this game. Not a single day without either huge FPS drops or Lag spikes.
When i press F1 it looks like a heart ECG. Up and down.

Just one of my last attempts to learn from other users/botters ;) i am close to give up this crap and start playing Starcraft again *lol*

I7 3770k, 16gb ram, 160gb ssd, amd card
2 VM’s with the usual settings, win7 64bit lite (it wouldn’t matter if i only run 1 VM)
2 VPS with openvpn (located in germany)
Realm frankfurt (doesn’t matter if i try other realms, only getting worse)
WLAN, Netgear USB stick, cable Internet Provider with a stable connection (at least on my host pc)
Tried predictive mode, reseted my VPS, changed from 1core to 2core each VM, updated my netgear drivers
And 100’s of other attempts to fix this sh*t

Next steps?

Blame my VPS provider? my Internet Provider? GGG? Change Hardware?
Completely re-install VM's? Completely re-install VPS? i have a bad feeling it's wasted time...

thanks for reading :p

I don't see what your problem is. Huge fps drops or lag spikes causes bots to fail/die?

yes.
massive lag spikes (1000ms) compared with FPS going up and down.

i can post a few screenshots later if you want.

i always tried to find and detect possible reasons...

- is "skill bombing" producing lag?
- playing in party?
- only the new areas?
- better fps/ping without bot?
- dependent on my play-time? (server-load) (morning/evening)

but until now i never found out what's going on. Sometimes it's better, sometimes worse.
sometimes i catch a party without lags/stuttering, sometimes it's unplayable.
sometimes the bot is stable for a longer time, but the next day i have 1000ms all the time.

both of my VMs have the same setup, the same VPN, both have lag/fps-spikes but the time when they occur are completely different.

the only thing i can definitely say is that my VPN (or the routing) has troubles since 2.0.
i checked the connection via WinMTR: from my host (without VPN) - no package loss.
but with VM and VPN running i got package loss.

i cannot analyze the WinMTR logs unfortunately...

but it's similar to this
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1342378

i also see this "networklayer" routing

yes. lowest resolution and such.

copy/pasted from the GGG forums...

not exactly the same config you posted.

Prolly fault of your VPN id guess
Can run 6 Bots with VMs with I7 2700k + 16 GB Ram

The FPS drop is a known issue. Has nothing to do with computer spec or VMs.

tried again 1 hour ago:

i just need to enter a large combat or move fast and ms spike up to 700-1500 all the time.
Back in town (not moving) the ping is fine most of the time and stable at 50-100 ms.

i can also see it via WinMTR:

in town (not moving) 0% loss
in maps/playing constant loss

next step: i try a fresh installation without vm/without vps and check my connection again... lets see...

You're not going to fix it. Go run the thing on a regular PC install. in town it's fine, zone out to dried lake and spikes.

pushed said something about how loading of things into memory was changed this patch and there's a ton more objects in larger zones.. he's looking into it.

i7 3939 / 32gig ram / 512 ssd / 980ti
vpn usa based
3 vms, windows 7 64 bit.
each running 4 core, 8gb ram and full clones not linked.

thanks.
the fact is - actually i got 3 options:

1) wait for GGG to fix their shit
2) fix it on my own somehow
3) stop botting

as long as i know that there are hundreds of botters with reasonable latency/fps i would prefer option 2.

i mean, it's sooo strange... :

act1 town - no problem
act1 coast - ping is getting worse, but still playable, 50-500ms
lvl68 map - 500-1500ms all the time. the bot can handle it somehow, but it's a pain to watch

thanks for reply.

Well, my last test-games in the last 2 days were all played by hand.
and even when i play "slowly" and manually without bot i got those nasty lag spikes.

the problem isnt from the bot then if you are having this issue without it.
I'm having fps spikes but only when i run the bot, else fps is rock solid

I had the same issue like you with VPN's , it all runs like a charm now , can you please tell me what windows are you using? I Presume you are using some very lite cutted ,32 bit version of windows , which is normal , a logical way to reduce the resource requirements , but there are some lite versions out there that doesn't work well with VM's. I understood that the hardway :D.

i think it was "windows 7 ultimate sp1 x64 lite v10n by nil"

I'm using this windows on my vmware's no problems with it,aside from the fps spikes when the bot is running(only when aproaching mobs). No problems with VPNs.You should try different type of connections(most vpns have)

i'm using openvpn on my vps.
so i don't have different connection types.

i made a fresh account without VPN, on my host.
but the problem is, i cannot test exactly if there is a difference. because with lvl1 you don't have any troubles.

it's only laggy when you play with more mobs/skills on your screen.

but hey, there are so many people complaining at the forums with exactly the same problem.
since 3? weeks no answer. i think GGG has a goal: collecting 20.000 winmtr logs.
after this they start to check their game (servers)

but i'll check again tomorrow. there has been some movement in this case:

game and bot now more heavy. Before 4 bots was fly now 4 bots is super slow. Nothing change in VM
