The effects of playing for ten years and then getting the ban hammer last week.

I played on my main account for ten long years. I discovered HB and loved it. Now Blizz has decided to end my Ten year addiction. This is my first week.... I think i will make it. I've cleaned out the weeds from my yard, fixed a broken fence, washed my pugs, actually dusted my house, and took my pugs for a walk at our local park. All of this in just the last few days. I've had no auctions to check and repost, no garrison missions to redo twice a day with 9 alts. I've had to farm exactly zero hours to make more gold to keep up. I've had absolutely no frustration dealing with noobs that couldn't raid, and most of all...... (sad) I have not even thought about meaningless trade chat conversations. I do indeed have one question though. What exactly is that big bright burning thing in the sky? lol, Thank you Blizz for giving me my life back...... I hope it lasts.
 
That's it! at least i have someone do exact the same things like me :D. Everything you concerned above + i have less stress because of the insuffisiant time for daily life xD. I think i can quit WoW to do something else, not MMO anymore
 
It really feels like a clean break from the game after going on and off subbing. I had no hard feelings about the ban and really think after all these years it is time to move on. The tedious nature is a much clearer.
 
isn't the entire point of honorbuddy to do all that crap for you? Sounds like you weren't too good at botting...
 
It's always good to take a break.. I've played since Vanilla but stopped mid Cataclysm and only came back to WoD.. botting is sometimes more fun than playing because of all the things you can configure/tweak to get it working just as you wanted. I actually made more in WoD than any other expansion by having 7 alts churn garrison chores using HBRelog and selling profession items.

I would not be surprised if you come back.. I don't know why but WoW is like ***** and there's an addiction that basically "calls" you back to the game.. it's like a smoker who starts smoking again because something bad happens in their life so they "crawl" back to their addiction. Some people I think are less susceptible to additions than others so this is probably not true for everyone and I'm not saying it's a weakness or anyone's part. For some reason WoW is just "more exciting" (especially with botting) than anything I could possibly do IRL, not 100% of the time obviously.. but every few weeks or so......
 
My main account was 9 years old, my only regret is that I have 11 toons 5 are 690 plus with mythic gear and the others 675 + , I also had a total of 3.4 million gold in guild banks and personal gold .... wonder how much dollars I would have gotten for such account ... I hope when November comes I can just sell it and not even think about checking anything in game ... you know how it is ... like quitting smoking .. " I am totally over this .. i just have a puff...I will be ok .... rofl and you are hooked again!!!"
TBH wow without the bot will not be the same but I completely agree with the starter of this thread ... I am actually doing lots of things I had stop doing as I was just completely procrastinating because of the game ... woooohooooo I got my life back !!!!

Good luck to you bro. I know it isnt my business to say so, but I can imagine a nice account like that going for quite a bit! So, make sure you disclose the suspension when you sell it!

sadly, 690 gear wont be worth much in 6 months, and after blizz takes all your gold because they suspect you of gaining by ill means, your account will worth just about the $15 it takes to resub.

Im sorry to say Frosticus seems like the ban and the bot down have gotten you a bit ... erhmmm i was gonna say frosty but perhaps bitter is a better word.... go out and smell the flowers mate ... raining on everyone else's parade is not good for the soul ... I guess I might mention also I have 272 mounts (including the swift spectral tiger, the white rhino, lots of arena mounts and many other really hard to get mounts) and god knows how many achievements .. as for the gold I doubt they will take it ... I made it all in MOP using TSM and according to the (now gone) undermine journal I sold aproximately 70% of the glyphs on my server for 18 months ... making me about 30k a day so you do the math .. but each one is entitle to their opinion ... I guess time will tell

PS in al honesty Frosticus .. maybe going out for some air might do you some good :cool:

listening to people cry about giving away their beloved accounts? i found this small violin for you its the smallest ive ever seen. i wonder what song it plays

Is that what you think, or know, cause if you know so sure, where did you get this info from?
There are plenty of other people who used the bot only for leveling their chars or fishing, whom don't have tons of gold on their account, I dont see blizz take their gold either.
I think a 6 month suspension is already enough of a punishment.

But yeah, nobody knows. Maybe you're right. maybe wrong, We will find out on Friday the 13th (of November) ^^
 
its been posted a couple different times. one poster even posted his conversation with a gm. and as a recipient of many many bans, i can say 100% if you are suspected of gaining anything, it can be removed.

one instance, blizz deleted my accounts, and deleted guild banks that didnt even belong to me, just because i was depositing money into it.

many times ive logged in with one farm account and realize im guildless because the guild belonged to another farmer of mine and was banned.

Assuming in 6 months they actually have new content. I only raided twice a week 2 hours a day if that. The only thing i lost is game time with my friends.
 
well i've never get banned but every year i stop playing wow for a while to reconnect to real world. it has been 7 months since last time i played wow. now i want to play, i miss but i know what is going to happen if i play wow. this time i'll not start wow again until i establish everything in my life, especially things about my job.
 
I think a lot of people (casual botters mainly) will realize how great life can be without WoW and maybe never return. Blizzard did a good job on that one with 6 month bans. :)
 
I created another account, used my spare bot (its a crap bot compared to HB... but it kinda works) and already have 2 level 100`s. Figured this was a good a time as any to join the alliance pvp stack.
