Hahaha I like being called out. Are you new to DB? I think you are misunderstanding my post or meaning of it. I was just putting it out there that is isnt "EXACTLY" ezupdater causing the problem. EZupdater sees there is an update to lets say "Trinity" ... and it does not know you are running a normal version of DB instead of the required BETA of DB, so it updates trinity to a version REQUIRING DB BETA when you are running DB normal(.355) then it breaks. I was just posting the solution to fix. Of course you would not be experiencing that problem if you were already using the beta, it would update the trinity no problems.

FYI - and when calling me out about "being new to updating/etc" get your facts straight.. Goto page 1 of this thread. I was post1, download1. The only person using the plugin longer then me when it was released was rrrix. :)

files says 0.2.1? right? mines says 0.2.0 in the program

Yea I am new to DB, and yes i misunderstood or well got the wrong impression of the post.

Well it also states on the first page that it's suggested to use DB Beta.
What i originally planned to ask was if you had anything that could point rrrix in the direction of a fix if one was needed! I understand that you have found one and an actual solution which is great.

My humble apologies then, I just really hate double work and well people might as well learn something on the way around fx. I learned something at least.

No hard feelings my friend! Hope you didnt take any of what I said to heart. I was just messin with you. :) This is still a fairly new plugin and these are just some of the types of bugs needing to be worked out as everyone doesnt use the Beta builds/etc.. I've also previously posted a couple suggestions to rrrix for possible fix.

It's awesome, i might have come out in a real wrong way as well.

Anyways what i think we both we're and are trying to achieve is give rrrix some peace to do really important stuff.

Glad that you found some use for the stuff just happy it's getting to some use :)

That's correct, i think rrrix might have forgotten to change the version number just.
You are however choosing the right one if you downloaded 0.2.1 from the front page.

Worked like a charm till this morning.. my db BETA client had an update and i installed it(some minor update, version 1813.393) and then EZupdater started removing trinity again from my plugins.

Hey, had the minor update as well, spewed out a few compiler errors after the update, nothing serious though and easily solved by going to the EZUpdater, and press "check for updates"
Once updated and restarted it did not give any compiler errors.

Looking at svn, i see that rrrix made some fix, so just try hitting the check for updates and see if it works after :)

Hey botheric my friend.. :) I just got up, and saw quite a few posts regarding that issue. You've confirmed the newest DB BETA working with the current plugin releases after a force update? (Everything compiling ok) ?

--Just asking so I dont give out any false info. Just wondering cause: alot of ppl seem to be having problems after updating to the new db beta.

Hey :) hope you got a well deserved sleep! :p

After a force update everything worked as it should for me at least, i was shortly considering if i should've deleted the trinity plugin first, but that wasn't needed :)

Edit: Yeah the Trinity included in the .394 .. was faulty, rrrix pushed an update last night with a fix but that has not made it into the Beta yet.

Have exactly the same errors like froster.

- Have a fresh new install of latest Beta (.394)
- tried everthing from the second post, but gets all the messages from the post before.
 
Feature Request - Revision

rrrix,

Would it be possible to add the following feature. Personally I would like the ability to specify a revision. You can default to HEAD but say I wanted to run Trinity 1.8.24 I could replace HEAD with the correct revision number in settings. Just a thought. I may even do it myself anyway. Just need to figure out the SharpSVN client. =)

Have it possible in the config window to configure a scheduler like "Check for updates S,M,T,W,T,F,S" pick days or be able to select "Daily, Weekly, Monthly" or "Disable Autoupdate" and it only does the updates when you click the force update button to check for all updates.

Here is the reason for that:
I was out of town for the last 3 days.. Shortly after I left ezupdater tried to update trinity, failed, and the plugin was no longer running in demon buddy. So for 3 days while I was gone my bots made games, errored out since trinity was not running, and just kept making games for 3 days. With a scheduler or a way to configure when the updates are done we can do it around our real life schedule so if it malfunctions I would be home to fix. Yes, I know I could probably edit a file to do it myself or disable it updating trinity, but since I have been really busy at work lately and didn't have time to try to fix it myself I just removed the plugin for the time being to avoid this happening again while I'm traveling. I just think it a scheduler may simplify the plugin for everyone.

Also, this isn't the first time it killed my bot failing the trinity update, just luckily the first time I was home and saw it malfunctioning.

If you're going to run your bot while you're out of town, it's probably best to turn EZUpdater off because it replaces plugins and profiles only while DB is open and only while DB is in use.. Replacing files that are in use can cause serious problems. I don't think EZUpdater is meant to be used or run while bot is running.
