Trinity causes DB to crash

When i open trinity config options the first time i run DB it all works good, then when i save, and if i open it again without closing db first, it causes it to stop responding...

Why?

Hard to say without posting the logs.. BUT... A guess, Trinity .23 has some problems with the normal DB releases, you need to run DB Beta build to run trinity .23... If that isnt the problem repost with your logs attached.

I dont know that profile.. Is this the profile you are running?

If so then a couple lines down on the first post it says it works with the BETA DB and Trinity .22 and .23 does not work. Since you are using .24 I'd imagine that may not work either, you might need to goto .22 as the profile says to run it (if that is the profile you are running). Then you will also need to temporarily disable ezupdater so it doesn't update it right back to .24 until the issue is resolved.
 
I wish it were that, but it does it no matter what profile i'm running.

No, it happens all of the time regardless of profile. First time i can config trinity fine, after i save, i need to reload DB in order to open the config menu otherwise it crashes. every time, without fail.

Have you tried to do a fresh install ?

It's actually pretty quick todo. and just to test so you do not need to delete the old copy.

  1. Download the latest DB Beta -- > http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/151424-beta-demonbuddy-beta-builds.html
  2. After you have installed/unzipped, delete all the plugins in the plugin folder.
  3. Follow this install guide http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/plugins/trinity/152028-ezupdater-plugin-updater.html
  4. Now go to your old DB folder, find the settings folder and copy what is written below and copy those files into the "test DB/settings" folder
    Code: 
    GlobalSettings.xml
TVars.xml
And your Battletag folder
  5. Start DB and let it update, if it doesn't start to update... check the plugin part of DB and make sure EZUpdater is enabled.
  6. Restart once the updating has completed and you are asked to restart.
  7. Now try to run the test DB and load a profile (You might need to enable Trinity, Quest tools, and Lumberjack)

You might not want to hear this, (or maybe you already tried it) ... But you might want to do a fresh install of the normal DB release (Version .355) + Trinity .22 or prior .. I had problems myself with the betas and new versions of trinity, so I am currently running .355 DB + Trinity .18 (but I think .22 is a good stable build for a normal DB releases as well)

Let me know if that fixes.
 
The thing is, its been doing it since i installed DB, so i've gone through a few trinity releases, I may just bite the bullet and realized i have to restart DB to change trinity config more than once per launch... however its not a big deal because I don't need to go into the config all that often. Just thought it may be a common problem.
