Just a heads up, PQR 72 hour suspension wave, NOT HB

At least BG's would be enjoyable again if there was a banwave :p

you people need to stop making excuses why you bot. you either break the rules and bot because you want to, or you follow the rules, play the game, and dont bot. stop blaming your cheating practices on "health issues"

What was the point of your post, User0828? We simply won't play if we don't have bots. Noone here said that we weren't cheaters.

Wow is my one and only addiction, and because of that addiction, it has caused health issues in the form of carpal tunnel in my case.

I'm sorry that bothers you and I'm happy you're in perfect health yourself. The simple fact is I can't do a manual rotation for 5 hours a night without my hands absolutely aching and continuing to do damage to my body.

I know I have to cheat to play this game, and as soon as that cheat goes away, so will my wow days. The pain simply isn't worth it.

I've never bitched that getting banned was anyone's fault but my own. I know the risks every time I log in. In fact, I'm usually the first person to tell someone off that thinks HB is safe.

Indeed. As i have said in many posts my wife has MS and just plainly cannot play without the aid of a bot to do rotations. Does she sell gold or accounts? No. Does she enjoy raiding with friends and is a help rather than being a problem for the group? Yes. So...how *is* that a problem exactly? Nice for you and + 90% of botters that bot just to bot User0828 but there are more than a few that bot just so they can enjoy the game.

Waiting to see if I get banned. Used PQR like 3 days ago on some dummies to see DPS. And also used PE for like a month off and on. The only thing I think is triggering it is the PQI and PE addons. But w/e if I do get banned I just won't bot anymore. Or move to another game that dosnt have 50 fucking buttons to press.
 
Can't wait till blizz launches a sale, more botting for me! :)

PQR is good and i feel bad for xelper and the PQR community, who dont use HB. I really hope that PQR can recover from all this. i always fell back onto PQR when HB was updating for a new patch. lots of great profiles exist for a great program
 
A lot of people have been pointing to PQI and chat messages as a possible way that Blizz identified PQR users. Do you guys think the same will happen to similar bots like Tyrael?

That's obvious. The question I originally asked is how PQR users were identified specifically. Many people like myself only ran the program for a couple days, while I've used HB for a few months on a daily basis.
 
Let's make something clear PQR is good, maybe in some ways better then HB but through all everyone's complaining about the bot. Watching a ban wave is a good time to tell bossland you would like a hug. When he asks why just simply say "Tripwire". Happy botting :)
 
Very helpful article. However, I'm still confused. It talks of PQI and how it communicated via chat. Tyrael does the same thing (from what I can see) by putting info into chat such as when it's started or paused.
 
Not all the users that got banned were using PQI though. Although that may be one possible reason, it's definitely not the only thing that led to the bans.

We'll never know what Blizzard specifically used to catch the PQR/PE/PQI users unless a court case comes about and the judge makes them reveal specifically what method they used to catch the users.

Just like HB doesn't reveal what counter meansures specifically are in place for warden, blizzard doesn't reveal how bots are caught. Doing so would simply cause bot owners to come up with better ways to fool the detection.

Maybe some people will appreciate the time and effort the dev team put in during patch days for example. They dont take extended times to update for no reason, Tripwire. Enough said.

I use chat output to know when Tyrael is active or not out of common courtesy to fellow group members. I mainly use the bot with my hunter, and TuanHA's CR is incredibly trigger happy. Plus HB freezes quite a bit on me while using Tyrael.

Besides, if chat is what gave PQR away, the damage is already done as far as Tyrael goes. But that's a big "if".

Is the Tyrael announcement for Pause/Unpause safe?
Yes it is, as safe as it's always been. It has nothing to do with the famous CHAT_MSG_ADDON and CHAT_MSG_* systems. Tyrael prints locally to the frame, and it doesn't trigger an event.
 
HB users should be weary of questing. I have had numerous fresh accts banned doing nothing but questing. (between levels 20-85 seems to be targeted) Accounts I have leveled using other methods have not been banned.
