Link: Blizzard Game Designer to nerf Item Drop Rates in upcoming Patch Blog

bizzy1one, I hope they'll do that. The only solution that will not affect legit players.

Oh, so you found one too? I got 2 last night. ;p after 3 months of not getting even one :P

i found my first one last night as well.. never ever seen one before that..

5.5% too :D

Yeah, and later people tell me that it is not controlled... How about 3 different people getting the probably rarest item at the same time on 4 different characters? :)

had like 40 mempo in the last months, not a single one with crit -.-

I had more than 50 prolly.. first time i get a critpo was last night and 2 more people reported the same.

wtf.. i got one last night too! With strength and 5 crit.

i'm not really sure what "controlled" means in this context, whether its deliberate or if there's some kind of algorithm that causes clumping. Normally players just come out with trite sayings like "rng is rng". but anyone with a few bots can obviously see this happening.. i very commonly get runs of a certain item. i've had this happen on nat rings before.. haven't seen one for weeks, then get 4 of them across a few bots in one day.

all i can say is im glad my bots were up on critpo day :D

You're onto it. There's much more control in blizzards loot system than people think. Theres also been a lot of speculation based on gameservers being "hot"
I also find it interesting when you load 3 bots, check them in 25 mins, and find that they all have the same exact legendary xd

there RNG system is probably based on multiple rolls some of which may be server related... i.e. Servers roll certain conditions which then have a weight that factors into your individual RNG roll..

This allows for RNG but also restricts the rate at which top tier items roll.... As you have said and we have all seen it when we have several of the same legs dropping across all of our bots then all of a sudden we see the same thing with another, and so and so forth....

Granted its all conjecture but is logical when you look at the type of loot your getting across multiple bots...

Lol, just found a mempo with 4 CC and a nice amount of dex. 6 month of botting and finally! Also, I think some sort of magic was involved in creation of this thread. Next item that I wish to have is echoing fury with 1100+ DPS, 80+ CD, lifesteal and socket.

Too bad it can't roll :P

I too have noticed a lot of clumping of certain legendaries between different weeks/months, etc.

Even though I think it could be beyond RNG, I'm definitely not a tinfoil hat wearer thinking it's part of a government conspiracy, Blizzard evil empirical design, the NWO, or anything else. Rather it could be the possibility of their algorithm, any bugs in that algorithm by being on the same IP/hardware ID's/anything in common between bots, or any number of things.

Regardless on whether the distribution is truly 100 percent random or "tainted", I couldn't give two hoots because its Blizzard's game and they can do what the F they want. I'll just either bank or brimstone a little harder sometimes and I'll let the good times roll.

And +1 to methuser for posting somewhat relevant material that most people might miss if they don't follow a blue tracker (until the item blog update today). Usually it's threads on what color Jay Wilson dyed his pubes, but this thread was a nice change of pace for him.
